A soft but deep rose colour reminiscent of damask, velvets and gentler times.

Combine with off white, pearl grey and accents of charcoal

– With shades of soft to mid pinks

– With grey blues and magnolia

– With chartreuse and olive green

– With garnet red and charcoal grey

– With champagne, pale antique rose, and off white

– With a very pale lilac and pearl grey

– With mercury glass, pewter, burnished gold

– With moss green and burnished gold

– With sage green, pale antique rose and magnolia

– Rings of rose gold, pink diamonds or platinum with champagne coloured diamonds

– Lilies in white, or deep red, white flowers of every hue and variety, hellebores, black grapes and dark red speckled vine leaves, privet berries, vine tendrils, white or chartreuse orchids, green or cream berries, roses, peonies, Queen Anne’s lace, dried hydrangeas, twigs

– Macaroons, pink cocktails, pink champagne, pink iced lamingtons and berry thick shakes before the guests leave, pink coconut ice, pink sugared biscuits, foil wrapped chocolates

– A dessert table featuring just cakes of your favourite flavours, all iced in white and each featuring the antique rose coloured flowers in your bouquet

– Sugared fruit in silver bowls alongside mercury glass candlesticks or tea light holders

– Beading, fringing, velvets, ornate headpieces, feathers, old velvet dusted flowers and leaves – incorporate as part of your embellishments on tables, in amongst flower arrangements, bouquets, boutonnierres

– Old bottles of all shapes and sizes, old preserving jars or old floral teacups filled with flowers set on plain coloured tablecloths with vintage fabric napkins,

– Ornate silver or gold edged mirrors used to write table numbers or guests places on, laid flat on tables to reflect candlelight from rose and buff coloured candles, and flowers
– Moss used in centrepieces, rusted urns, moss letters tied with rose ribbon

– Make a ‘vintage’ table using bell jars in a variety of sizes. Gather all manner of old things that are sentimental to you and your families and fill the bell jars with your own pieces of history. On the wall behind the table hang as many sepia coloured photos of your older relatives’ weddings as you can find – framed in old frames
