We’ve all done the ‘Things you didn’t know about me’ but here’s a new one!
Here are the new rules!
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Here are my 5 songs that I really, really like….but don’t like to publicize:
- Barry White - My First, My Last, My Everything [How can you not just want to get up and groove to this? with his thick husky voice it’s such a fabulous song!]
- Cest La Vie- B*Witched [I wonder what ever happened to these Irish lassies? I loved this song, it gave me strength when things were downright horrid. Such a bright and cheerful song!]
- Catch My Disease - Ben Lee [This song with the little tinkling piano melody at the beginning is a sure fire way to get me in a good mood! ‘And they’re playing ME on the radio, I like it!’]
- Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian [I used to love the funky moves to this song, but it reminds me of when my mother used to turn the radio on when she baked. Such a classic!]
- Michael Jackson- Earth Song [Can you tell I’m in a philosophical mood? This reminds me of when my brother was playing Michael Jackson’s tape over and over in his room (also love black & white) I love the tune of this song and the whole ‘eco friendly’ nature of the lyrics]
Eek, hard to stop at five, hopefully I picked the best of my bad lot!
I am now tagging:
Kathryn at Australia Entertains, Cathrin at CD Weddings, Donna at Bells & Bubbles, Grace at Grace’s Birdcage Wedding, Kim at The Event Essentials, Wendy at Wendy’s Bridal Affairs and Sasha at Sparkliatti
This little button means one very exciting thing.
Marketing legend Guy Kawasaki created a site- called Alltop.com, which in short, groups together all the top blogs stories into ‘channels’ there’s a fashion channel, a movie channel, a beauty channel and more.
But today I found out from a lovely photographer- Christine Tremoulet, that the weddings channel has launched and Polka Dot Bride is on it! Woohoo!
I’ve learnt a lot from Guy Kawasaki’s thoughts about business, but I certainly never thought I could put my name in the same sentence as his! Definitely worth checking out the Alltop site today to keep up with the latest topics!
To all the beautiful women out there who support us, guide us, hold us, laugh with us and most of all love us. Happy Mother’s Day!

To my own mother- thankyou for being such a strong, beautiful women who I admire so much and love with all my heart.

Anzac Day is the day Australians & New Zealanders remember our troops who who landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1. It’s also a day we think of past and current troops who have lost their lives while fighting for our countries.
They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.

I love coming across new blogs. Love love love it! As I have so many I catch up with every day this will be the first of a number of instalments!

I love this blog so much! Cara at Peonies and Polaroids has a beautiful calm about her blog and finds the most gorgeous things. Cara has an innate sense of style which continues to take my breath away! Thankyou to the Elizabeth Anne Design girls for introducing me to her! (Another must read)
Which led me to..

East Side Bride is one funky bride! She does the BEST pieces on style for the Groom which makes him look like him and not a ken doll in a three piece tux with his hair slicked back 9and hey if that’s your thing, I’m not knocking it! Promise!) She also has particularly stylish fashion entries which have pushed my boundaries and introduced me to new looks!

Everyone knows I love everything vintage and Grace’s Birdcage Wedding is choc a block full of vintage glamour! From crystal clips to beautiful gowns it really opens my eyes to new wedding ideas and has a certain cosiness about her! Delicious finds!

Wendy over at Bridal Affairs has to be the sweetest commenter I’ve ever met! She always brings sunshine to my day and has a sweet and informative blog about wedding planning in the USA. She sources some great venues and puts on some great weddings!

Jessica-Lynn at Tying The Knot is planning her wedding and is finding numerous gorgeous things along the way! Jessica is one of those people you know you’d have a lot of fun pouring over wedding magazines with and I’m loving hearing about her journey!
Happy reading!
Blogging is so new in Australia- especially for weddings! Here are some of my favourite idea filled Aussie wedding blogs!
(there are lots more of wedding suppliers (ie photographers!) but that’s another post!)

Kathryn writes Australia Entertains (link should hopefully be working soon!). Kathryn is one and creative stylish lady who is full of beautiful ideas and helpful hints for everything from weddings to kid’s parties. Kathryn is full of new ways of creating unique and stylish events and her warmth comes through her posts.

Fashion editor of Bride Magazine Kirstie Armiger-Grant writes Bride Pure Couture and has a fab insiders view to what Aussies are doing with weddings. She also talks of what the magazine is doing and their special projects which is exciting to read. She writes beautifully detailed posts which I love to read with my cup of tea.

The ladies at Wedding Style Guide Magazine have launched their own blog. Although only new, readers are invited to poke and prod the staff as they share what’s hot at the magazine and Australian weddings. With such a stylish publication, this blog is certainly one to watch!

Cathrin D’Entremont is a Perth based wedding planner with a love of anything ‘wedding’! Cathrin runs wedding workshops in Perth which she shares on her blog. She also shares some of the gorgeous weddings she helps come to life and her trials and joys as a Perth wedding planner.
