The new Martha Stewart Weddings is out and has a beautiful feature on the colour combination of fuchsia and taupe.

The taupe really makes the fuchsia pop, but it’s a little softer on the eye than fuchsia paired with white. The warm undertones give a cosy feel, but can be made cooler if paired with the right colour.

Taupe is such a lovely neutral colour that it can really work with any colour scheme

There is a beautiful wedding in the latest edition of Real Weddings where the bride put each table’s guest list into a different silver frame and hung them together on a wall. The best part about silver frames is that they can be reused in your home or given as gifts- they’re a classic! (Check out the latest issue of Real Weddings for more on the wedding)
Ikea has masses of cheap photo frames which would be perfect for a wedding.

Ikea Guld Bredavik Frame, Ikea Glana Frame, Ikea Ribba Frame, Ikea Snajsig Frame
The use of frames at a wedding doesn’t have to be limited to directing guests to their tables. They could hold wedding photos of family members, photos of those who have passed away, table numbers, signs for your candy buffet/photo booth/special touches and could even hold menus. Small ones could act as place card holders- all different shapes and sizes could add a shabby chic feel to the tables.

I think every polka dot wedding deserves a post of it’s very own! I spotted these pics by photographer Lara Swanson who captures non traditional weddings, unions and portraits!

The couple, Mackie & Brit started out with this monogram (love the subtle polka dot border) designed by Creative Montage
Then Lara posted the first photos of the details they created..
Sweet pew signs and polka dot tissue pouches
This is the photo that stole my heart- a sweet polka dot ring cushion (and yummy pink flowers!)
Lara is going to be posting more details shots soon on her blog and you can view Brit & Mackie’s sneak peek slideshow here
I also found these polka dot shoes (great for a wedding) captured by Renee Broughton from the wedding of Adelaide & Yuancheng
Vane at Brooklyn Bride has just featured the sweetest polka dot wedding of Lauren and Rob on her blog

I feel like I can smell lemons today- the fresh smell of lemon custard cooking on the stove. Which of course, brings me to weddings. The yummy, bright lemon yellow colour can be such a gorgeous addition to your wedding colour palette.
Lemon Centrepiece from theknot
A bowl of lemons, or lemons pulled together in the centre of the table make a fabulous centrepiece. They give off a fresh citrus smell and the no fuss factor creates a bold look.

Such sweet yellow bridesmaids from J.Crew (dear J.Crew, please bring this range to Australia!)
Yellow on bridesmaids is so summery- some beautiful white flowers or green orchids tied with green ribbon would really make these pop! Winter brides can team them with a bright citrus orange or even chocolate brown. For an understated look- black and white with yellow is a stunning combination!!

Love the use of lemons with green! Lemons used as a placecards is cheap and cheery!
Yellow Calla Lillies and boutonnieres from theknot.com
Yellow flowers- often calla lilies, orchids, roses, tulips and gerberas suit any season and are such a beautiful vibrant addition to a wedding.
