This week’s snapshot comes from US photographer DrewB Photography. Drew is such a gorgeous lady- she’s the type of girl I feel like I could chat weddings, life and be best mates with!

This shot gives me butterflies- the bride who is so excited (and perhaps a little nervous) about getting into the wedding gown she’s probably thought about for months and dreamt about her whole life. The bridesmaids- not a smile on them, they’re all concentrating on getting the dress onto the bride perfectly. Surrounding her in support.

This week’s snapshot is from the wedding of Stefanie & Tom, like an oil painting, it could be straight out an art gallery!
Captured by US photographer Emilie Sommer of Emilie Inc Photography (P.S Check out Emilie’s recent proposal, it made me cry!)
I’m introducing Snapshot Sunday! Readers of Polka Dot Bride know I’m a bit of a photography stalker and know one good image can take my breath away. So instead of showing my favourite images all week, I’m dedicating them to Snapshot Sunday!

I adore this little boathouse near Perth. It makes for a perfect wedding photo at the celebration of Shannon and Niels
I’ve been thinking a lot about the typical Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth & Sydney brides this week and this image stuck out to me.

It’s taken under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, but I wonder how many international readers might have guessed that? It feels like it’s our own little secret!
Loving this cute shot by US Photographer Dane Sanders taken at Lindye and Winn’s wedding this weekend.

Check out their slideshow here for more photos!
The back of Sonia’s wedding gown is exquisite. She wore the Galleria Couture when she wed Tristan in Subiaco, WA.

Anya captured on her wedding day by Vanessa Hall of Wildberry Photography

I love this shot from Chloe & Alan’s wedding by James Day. There’s something a bit mystical and grunge about it but it’s totally glamorous.

Sugarlove Weddings have a great wedding featured over on The Bride’s Cafe today. Amee and Paul made a recent appearance in a bridal publication and now are gracing websites! Check out the Aussies making us proud!
I’ve been following the blog of Perth wedding photographer Samm Blake for a little while now (note: if you have a blog do let me know, I’m a bit addicted!) I love Samm’s fresh take on photography and fantastic use of light and textures.
So recently, I was very excited to see Samm win first place in the Kid’s category of the Wedding Photojournalist Association awards! Congratulations Samm!
Here’s what the judges said about Samm’s shot
‘A wonderful, innocent photo of a young girl–maybe a flower girl or younger sister– peeking at the bride’s ring. It has the feel of a stolen moment; one that maybe she never knew was taken. Despite the straight-forwardness of the composition, this one jumped out of this category from the start.’
The WPJA is an international group promoting photo journalism (ie candid moments) in photography, each moment is real, unposed and sometimes even haunting in emotion.
One of the first photographers I ever followed in blogland Charlotte Geary also picked up 8th place in the First Dance category and fifteenth in the engagement category and Aussie photographers came up trumps with Tony Marin scoring a second place in the Getting Ready category and third in the reflections and James Boddington seventeenth in Transport. (I’m sure I missed other Aussie’s so let me know!)

Sydney photographer Ryan Schembri took out three first places at this years WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) awards.
The shot above won first place for WPPI International Wedding Print of the year but Ryan also won Photojournalism section and got 1st Place for Individual portrait!
I know some other Aussies did us proud at the awards but am yet to know who- so do share the details if you know!
