Hayley and Jeremy

Hayley and Jeremy

Today I’m sharing a very special wedding. When photographers get together something amazing happens and today’s wedding is the wedding of StudioThisIs owner Jeremy and Hayley.

Held on Grand Manan Island in Canada, the couplie married in a field overlooking the ocean. The reception was held at The Inn at Whale Cove which was also the place the couple first met.

The photos were of course by StudioThisIs and their sister company SotaDzine. Jeremy and Nicole (head of SotaDzine) scouted out brilliant photo locations for days before the wedding. Jeremy knew exactly what he wanted his own wedding photos to look like and the day after the wedding, the couple along with the photographers spen eight hours in a boat, on cliff faces, near a lighthouse capturing amazing photos.

There’s another special element to this wedding- it was decorated with black and white polka dots!

Hayley shared a little of how she and Jeremy met

“Jeremy and I met six years ago at my cousin’s wedding in Canada. He was the photographer and when we met that day we were both smitten. We ended up chatting on the phone and emailed a few times after the wedding but then 6 years went by without us seeing each other or talking.

In 2006 my cousin convinced me to get a My Space page and then she emailed the link to Jeremy.  He wasted no time and emailed me and the rest is pretty much history.  After emailing and talking on the phone for 5 weeks I decided to fly to Chicago and see him for the first time in 6 years. It was instant mad love… We were engaged 2 months later! He proposed to my on the little island in Canada (my hometown) where we first met.”

Hayley walked down the aisle to “In My Place” by Coldplay and wore a Justina McCaffery gown. Jeremy asked the owners of the field if they would let the grass grow until the wedding. A few days before he mowed the aisle.

Jeremy’s father married the couple

Hayley’s mother and aunt made jars of jam for each guest. Each placesetting and the seating chart was made by Hayley’s best friend Lori Swift

The cake by Sarah’s Sweet Delights was brown sugar pound cake with maple buttercream frosting. Hayley and her mother grew sunflowers to decorate the tables, along with black and white polka dot table coverings made by Hayley’s mother.

Hayley was especially moved when her father sang to her during the reception. The couple danced to “I’ll Look After You” by The Fray. On the couple’s first date, they attended a Fray concert.

Check back afternoon when I’ll be sharing the dramatic day after shoot photos!
