Speaking of Real Weddings, this gorgeous Australian magazine just took out magazine of the year for the second year in the row at the Bell Publishing Awards!

It’s been such a gloomy week it’s hard to think of marrying outdoors. But Scottish couple Stephen Tierney and Claire Tullan, from Scotland became the first to marry on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Although the bridge has seen hundreds, if not thousands of proposals, Tuesday the 3rd of June saw the first ever wedding.
There was no veil to be seen, with the couple donned in the lovely grey bridge climb jumpsuits and rain jackets. They exchanged rings using the BridgeClimb’s secure ‘ring exchange device’ 134 metres above Sydney Harbour.
The couple were surprised by close family who braved the heights and climbed the bridge to be present during the ceremony. They will celebrate with extended family and friends in a celebration in Scotland after their Australian honeymoon.
Here’s the happy couple (I wish Sydney had put on some glorious sunshine for them!)

Weddings are expensive, but not only for the hosts of the wedding but also for friends. There’s the cost of new outfits, presents for pre wedding celebrations, flights, accommodation, wedding present and more.
Kate Perry has written an article today which examines the real costs for others of your wedding. It’s a good read! Check it out
This story came to light a few weeks ago but did get me thinking about what lengths you would go to as a bride if something went wrong.
Elana Gatt, of New York recently got married. But she claims her florist ruined her theme and caused extreme distress and is asking for $400,000 in restitution and damages.
The florist allegedly substituted pastel pink and green hydrangeas for the dark rust and green ones she had specified for 22 centerpieces. The flowers allegedley were also wilted, brown and barraged in dusty vases without adequate water.
The flowers cost them $27,435.14. There was no contract.
So what do you think? Should she be taking the legal action? Should she be letting it go? Where is the line for your service providers?
Eva Longoria’s wedding location- Saint German l’Auxerrios Church in Paris (Photo from SMH)
Well even though the 7th of July 2007 was a freezing day in most parts of Australia, brides who chose the date still made it on the news! (I did spot a number of thick fur capes chosen as accessories)

But in particular Eva Longoria’s wedding to Tony Parker was an eagerly awaited event which got a lot of the media talking.
For her civil service Eva chose to wear a pale pink Chanel dress and she did the official proceedings at the Paris City Hall.
For the church ceremony Eva and Tony chose Saint German l’Auxerrios church in Paris where fellow stars from Desperate Housewives, Jessica Alba and other notables dressed up in finery for the anticipated ceremony.- the photos have been sold to a magazine (much to the disappointment of the hundreds of fan and media awaiting a glimpse) The groom was dressed by French menswear label De Fursac while Eva wore a mermaid gown with a scoop back made of silk, with a 1.5 metre train it was designed by Angel Sanchez. She wore jewels by H Stern.
Female guests are believed to have received 18 karat gold bracelets (Van Klef and Arpels designed) as gifts at the reception. Each bracelet featured a miniature mother of pearl clover charm from their Alhrambra design.
The bride and groom chose the Peter Field’s cover of Magnetic Fields - Book of Love for their first dance.
