Submit A Wedding
Polka Dot Bride loves to receive real submissions to showcase on the blog, you can see the previous real weddings we have published here.
Polka Dot Bride is an editorial partner of Two Bright Lights.
How do I submit a wedding to Polka Dot Bride?
Simple email the following to submit (at) polkadotbride.com (remove the brackets and spaces)
- Between 5-10 of your favourite wedding day photos showing the details of the wedding day (please include at least one or two photos of the reception) in web quality.
- The newlyweds names
- Your role in the wedding (Are you the photographer? wedding planner? bride?)
- Where the wedding was held
- The photographers name and website
- Any special details about the wedding!
- The details of your vendors (from dress designers to florists!)
For extended wedding features, we ask the bride to fill out an extended questionnaire. Our readers (and us to be honest) love to know the details of the day, the thoughts behind the decisions, the things that the couple remember the most. Therefore most weddings we feature will have had the bride or groom fill out our questionnaire. We love to show the wedding as a “story” so love to feature photos from all parts of the wedding day.
How many photos do you publish?
Polka Dot Bride uses between 20-60 photos of a wedding. We post photos at a maximum width of 497 pixels and a maximum size of 300kbs.
When does Polka Dot Bride feature real weddings?
Polka Dot Bride features a real wedding every Wednesday in our “Wedding Wednesday” feature. Additionally, we feature polka dot weddings and engagement shoots on Saturdays.
Do you only publish weddings?
Polka Dot Bride also publishes engagement photos- actually we publish anything which we love and suits the blog, so do send it through!
Do I have to be Australian?
No! While we love to show off weddings from our beautiful country, we welcome submissions from all over the globe!
Are you looking for anything in particular?
Simply put, we’re looking for beautiful weddings with a sense of joy about them. We want to inspire brides to create beautiful weddings uniquely theirs- so unique details and special touches are always a winner. But overall? joy!
We also have a special affinity towards polka dot themed events!
Do you publish weddings that have been published elsewhere?
Polka Dot Bride prefers to publish content that hasn’t been seen before (apart from the photographer’s own blog), however we understand this is not always possible, so do let us know in your submission where else you have submitted the wedding and if it has been published.
Besides which, we’re not going to turn down a wedding that makes us cry, laugh or become giddy anyway!
What happens next?
If we feel your submission is a good fit for Polka Dot Bride we will contact you for further information and images. We will then let you know when you can expect your submission to go live on the blog.
Why haven’t I heard from you?
Polka Dot Bride can take a little time to review submissions. If your submission is in line with the type of content we want to produce on Polka Dot Bride we will be in touch as soon as possible.
If you haven’t heard form us occasionally we may come back to you when we feel we have an opportunity that suits your submission.
What are your tips for submission?
- Please ensure you can contact the bride easily or know as many vendor details and stories as possible about the day, our readers love to know about the details!
- When submitting, please include photos that capture the feel of the day. From the bride and groom’s “first look” to their special details.
- If your wedding is accepted please provide a download link or send the files, if the files are too large please use a service such as YouSendIt. We prefer the files or a download instead of clicking and saving 50+ files.
- All images are sized to a maximum width of 497 pixels, if you are concerned about image quality, you are welcome to resize the images yourself.
