A bride recently emailed me looking for indoor wedding ceremony locations (that aren’t religious centres) for Western Australia. Here’s a list of possible places for indoor wedding ceremonies in Perth and it’s surrounds. If you know of anymore, please comment!
The venues I have listed (to the best of my knowledge) allow you to just have your ceremony. But do check! You may also have to use the designated caterer or event organiser in order to use the venue.
Western Australia Museum
There are a number of sites within the museum suitable for functions. Including the Perth Museum, Maritime Museum and regional museums. Visit their website for more information.
The Art Gallery of Western Australia
If you’d like to wed surrounded by beautiful artwork, The Art Gallery of WA is available for functions of 5-500 Guests. There ares several function rooms to choose from including the concourse, the centenary gallery, boardrooms and an outdoor terrace. Visit the website for more information.
The Perth Town Hall
The Perth Town Hall is located at the highest point of Perth city. The main hall can seat 260 in concert style. Visit their website for more information.
The Old Brewery
The Old Brewery (Fraser’s Events & Catering) is located on the Swan River and once housed The Original Swan Brewery. The Thomas Hardwick room can seat 150 guests theatre style. There is also a separate area specifically for functions. Visit their website for more information.
Perth Zoo – Homestead Barn
While the Perth Zoo has many areas for functions, There are two available for wedding ceremonies- the Japanese Gardens and The Homestead Barn (which allows for an inside ceremony) Allowing up to 80 guests, The Homestead Barn has been designed to demonstrate eco friendly practices. The Pony Club
Located in Mt Lawley, The Pony Club Tapas Restaurant has a gorgeous upstairs area decorated with wooden floors and chandeliers. With room for 40 in a theatre style (and 50 for a seated wedding reception) The Pony Club is a great choice for an intimate celebration. Check their website for more information.
The Bell Tower

Overlooking the blue waters of Swan River, The Bell Tower offers amazing views with a floor to ceiling glass window right behind where the bride and groom might stand. The ringing of the historic bells can be arranged for your ceremony. Visit their website for more information.
East Fremantle Yacht Club
Overlooking the Swan River, The East Fremantle Yacht Club has capacity for receptions as well. Seating over 250 guests ballroom style, the venue also allows a backdrop for beautiful photographs on the jetties. Visit their website for more information.

I think it would be great to be married in art gallery like the one you featured here. There’s something very chic and stylish about it. And you won’t even have to decorate it too much since you’re already surrounded by such beautiful works of art.
I’d love an art gallery wedding too, but that shot from the Bell Tower is breathtaking. What an amazing view!
The Bell Tower and Yacht Club look like absolutely amazing venues for a wedding!

I just got married a couple of months ago at Peel Manor House, Baldivies (40 minutes outside of Perth). I would recommend everyone to have your ceremony, reception and stay over at that particular venue. Its a beautiful and memorable place.
the bell tower roof isnt actually undercover 🙂 the roof is open to the elements – believe me i know after a VERY rainy and windy wedding in 2007 LOL
Might I suggest the Tradewinds as well. They have some gorgeous rooms with views of the river, Fremantle and have a beautiful old world charm about them
We’re currently looking for ideas too – this is what we’ve come across so far:
– Woodloes Homestead chapel – non-denominational chapel, seats 55
– Leederville town hall – older style local town hall
– Heathcote reserve – lovely gardens with the option to hire the small hall
– St John’s Lutheran – lovely old church in Northbridge. It is religious, but you can have weddings of other Christian denominations there
– Murdoch worship centre – non-denominational church-like building at Murdoch university
we’re still on the hunt, so I’ll update more if I come across them
