Angela and Nathan
A short wedding feature this morning, but the bride and groom were so happy and it took place in Byron Bay (where the sun shines!) that I thought it was a nice little interlude into our day.
Photographer Kirra Cheers captured today’s wedding and shared all the lovely details! “Both originally from Australia, Angela and Nathan met through work in London. With family scattered all over Australia, they decided to get married somewhere central where they would enjoy returning to for holidays.””
The bride wore a pale pink gown from Collette Dinnigan. Kirra says “Pre wedding photographs were taken at ‘The Byron at Byron’ where Angela got ready. The bridal party was then transported to the ceremony by the ‘luv dub’, a striking red and white Volkswagen that is available for hire for weddings. A unique and very ‘Byron’ experience.”
“Angela & Nathan were married on the 30th January in beautiful Byron Bay at Watego’s Beach. Although it rained for most of the day, the sun shone for the beach ceremony and nothing could have wiped the smiles off their faces.” Angela walked down the aisle to “Heartbeats” by Jose Gonzalez.
“Champagne was served on the beach after the ceremony and the guests gradually departed for Melaleuca House were the reception was held.””
“During the photo tour, a sudden downpour caught us all by surprise and we were stranded halfway up the beach. The groom and his groomsmen made a run for it while the girls huddled under their parasols. Feeling slightly deserted by the men, I think we were all surprised and relieved to see them running down the beach with umbrellas in hand. It was an impressive rescue mission. Everyone took the impromptu soaking in their stride, and I was able to get some great photos.
The rest of the photo tour ran smoothly and I captured some really dramatic images with the storm clouds gathering in the background. It is always a pleasure to photograph a couple who are so in love.”
Kirra says “The entire day was orchestrated by Sonja from Byron Bay Weddings and Beyond. She took care of everything so that Angela and Nathan were able to enjoy their day without the stress.” The couple’s good friend from London sang “Summertime” with the live band for their first dance.
