Sarah and Greg

I thought it would be nice to end the week with a beautiful wedding from the other side of the world! Full of DIY details, vivid aqua and cherry red, it’s the perfect way to end off a working week!

Our newlyweds, Sarah and Greg met in high school. “We were friends for years and even went to the prom together.  We began dating in college and quickly fell in love!  I love being married to my best friend!!”

Photos today are by the very talented Hazelnut Photography whose crisp, brilliantly coloured photographs captured every thought out detail of today’s wedding day!

Sarah and Greg met before the ceremony for a “first look”.

Sarah and her mother created the stunning floral displays “All the flowers were done by my mom and I and a team of family and friends.  I wanted a majority of red flowers and I loved how everything turned out!  My mom and I ordered the flowers and picked them up a couple days before the wedding.   We then had a team of close friends and family put them altogether the day before.”

In a convenient coincidence, Sarah’s parents had a ’57 Ford Chevy sitting in their garage- just the right shade of blue and the perfect accompaniment ti Sarah and Greg’s wedding day. Sarah says “We just had a lot of help bring together all the details for the wedding.  I am so thankful for all the help that helped transport, set up and prepare for the big day”.

Sarah’s mum and dad made the wooden signs directing guests around the property.

Sarah and Greg were married at the Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton, California. The Muckenthaler is a historic home that is used for various types of events.  The mansion also carries beautiful art displays throughout the year. The wooden table and glass windows decorating the ceremony area were found in Sarah’s parent’s garage.

Sarah and Greg placed a photo of them together at prom on their gift table – they weren’t dating, but Greg accompanied Sarah to her senior prom!

The sweetheart table was surrounded by “Mr & Mrs” bunting made by Sarah’s mother. Shepherds hooks held glass jars filled with red flowers to decorate the ceremony aisle.

A peanut butter and jelly groom’s cake was made by Sarah’s bridesmaids. Tables were decorated with random glass vases and bottles tied with aqua blue ribbon and filled with flowers.

The escort card display, directing guests to their tables on manila tags sewn with red or blue ribbon was bought at a local flea market and the white cake was topped with wooden cake toppers made by Sarah’s sister in law.

Sarah and Greg danced to  “Then” by Brad Paisley and enjoyed a sparkler send off with their guests!

A big thank you to Sarah and Greg for sharing their wedding day on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to Hazelnut Photography for sharing today’s wedding!
