I’ll never forget when I first met Jessica Ruisan – she’d emailed me photos of a fantastic recycled wedding dress she’d made for a project. After trying (and failing) to convince Jessica to take up a career in fashion design, Jessica turned to photography and today I am thrilled to be able to share one of her inspiration shoots she shot recently. Most inspiration shoots focus on the bride and groom, but I was struck with the bridesmaid style that was really striking throughout the shoot. It’s gorgeous inspiration for your bridesmaids.

Jessica says “Our aim of the shoot, called ‘Evening Falls’ was a fashion shoot with a fun, casual and relaxed approach. With a park backdrop and long flowy gowns that catch the wind in mind, I went to Bridesmaids Only in Double Bay (NSW) and selected each dress for the shoot. With my personal style in mind, I ended up choosing chic style dresses in a variation of styles and bright colours.

The flower bouquets were there to complement the bright dress colours so Clementine Posy stuck with blooms that were in the same colour spectrum for the dresses… lemons/limes for the yellow dress and sunset tones for the coral which worked perfectly. On the day Emma Attenborough was so talented, working her hair styling, adjusting the hairstyles in matters of seconds between each look, to suit each dress style.”

Collaborating with our photographer Jessica today are Bridesmaids Only who provided the gowns ( Coral: Bari Jay Navy: Jim Hjelm with Summerblossom hair pins. Peach: Lisa Brown. Purple: Jim Hjelm Occasions. Yellow: Bari Jay), makeup artist Megan Vaughan, hair stylist Emma Attenborough, florist Clementine Posy and model Aley Greenblo.
