A completely romantic engagement shoot for you this Saturday – rainy, misty and filled with sweetness. Photographer Amanda Thorson tells me the story of the shoot and of Nat and Jez. “Here is how Jeremy proposed to Natalie….such a cute story! We chose Berrima for the location for their engagement shoot for two reasons, 1. It’s a beautiful little town and 2. It’s halfway between Canberra and Sydney (I live in Canberra and they live in Sydney). Because we drove a long way to meet when we arrived and it was raining we just went for it! And good thing we did, the photos turned out great and we had so much fun wandering around the town checking out the shops and sights.

Jez says “The trickiest part of proposing to Natalie was making it a surprise. We had talked about getting married and she was asking me daily when and how I was going to propose. I was a bit lost for how to make it a surprise and we had been arguing about it, so to make up after the fight I decided to take her to a place I had heard of in Helensburgh (about 45 minutes from Sydney) where there is an abandoned train station and tunnel. This may not sound romantic but at night the roof of the tunnel is covered with thousands of glow worms. After seeing this incredible sight and scaring ourselves silly we headed back to the car and things just felt right. I asked Natalie to marry me and she was so shocked she made me repeat the question. I didn’t even have the ring with me but I knew it was the right time and possibly my only opportunity to surprise her.”
