Amazing photography never fails to take my breath away and so I’m pleased to introduce you to Marcus Bell of  Studio Impressions who is this week’s Polka Dot Bride Vendor of The Week! Marcus Bell is world renowned and when I say that I don’t just mean he travels to the odd country here or there, but Marcus actually travels the world sharing his knowledge and teaching other photographers. He’s just been named as one of the top 10 photographers in the world and was the first photographer to be named Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year twice.

Aside from all the glory, in the end it all comes down to the photographs, the work before you and how it captures the day. Marcus has a regal-ness to his photographs, a magic. Along with plenty of candid images there are images that make your jaw drop as the sun streams through the clouds, creates a piece of art from an intimate moment or a frozen moment in time from a moment of joy.

To learn a little more about Studio Impressions we asked Marcus five questions in five minutes!

What is your favourite after five drink?
Depending on the mood of the day – a glass of Bannockburn Pinot Noir, or a Mojito.

Your favourite weekend getaway?
Surfing the beaches of Byron Bay, building sandcastles and making monsters truck stadium racetracks in the sand with my 3 little boys.

Favourite restaurant?
Here in Brisbane, MODA Restaurant. The chef Javier Codina produces authentic Spanish Catalan cuisine, perfect for sharing a relaxed dinner with a group of friends.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Avocado and fresh tomato on crunchy sourdough and a really good coffee – best eaten listening to music in the morning sun on my front deck with my wife Penny.

Your favourite wedding story?
The bride, Vivian was originally from Korea and now living in Australia, she had not seen her closest girlfriends for many years. Without her knowledge, her groom, Howard, had organised for all of her friends to fly to Australia to attend the wedding. After the ceremony, as she walked back down the aisle with her new husband, her lifelong friends stepped out into the aisle to surprise her. The pure joy on all their faces said just so much about the importance of friendship. What a magical gift for a husband to give his new wife. It really showed how much he knew her, loved her, and respected every part of her life. This wedding was quite a few years ago now, but I still think about that moment.
