My husband and I are wedding photographers based in Santiago, Chile. I’m an American expat there and we’ve used our home at The End of the World as a base for exploring the globe and photographing weddings all over – 3 different continents to date. And now we are coming to Australia! Not because there’s a shortage of good wedding photographers in Australia. That’s certainly not the case. In fact, I think of Brisbane as some sort of crazy wedding photographer black hole, sucking in all the most talented, creative people in the world.

There are a few reasons we’re coming. One is that we have a goal to photograph a wedding on every continent, even Antartica. But that’s not the most important reason for this trip. No, we’re coming because we like to travel. Travel to us is meeting, getting to know, and photographing new faces. Travel to us is about the people. Weddings are about the people. They go hand in hand. And on that note, here are some of the faces that define love and travel to Seba and I …

Andi and Lucas, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Virginie and Pierre, Lyon, France

Claire and Esteban, Cahon del Maipo, Chile

Daniella and Panky, Patagonia, Chile

Sarah and Gus, Surrey, England

Sam and Titi, Santiago, Chile

Dalila, Casablanca Valley, Chile

Caroline and Tommy, New York, New York

Blaire and Mike, New York, New York

Claudia and Manu, Paris, France

Seeing as how we have yet to meet an Aussie we don’t like, we figured we’d take a trip down under to see if people there all live up to their Serious About Beer-Drinking But Happy-Go-Lucky About Everything Else stereotype. 🙂 We want to see how the good folks living in Oz define love.

For some of our destination weddings, we barely end up having time to explore the area! We travel to far off places and then spend all of our waking hours with the bride and groom and their families, celebrating their wedding. And honestly, that doesn’t bother us. Travel and weddings are about the people and we’ve realized that you can learn so much about a culture and family dynamics within a country just by spending 8 hours with a bride and groom on the day they tie the knot. There is nothing I love more than getting to know a couple, trying to figure out what makes them tick and then trying to figure out how best to get that across in a photo. The fact that I can go halfway around the world to shoot a wedding and still recognize a glance that says “I love you,” in any culture comforts me.

Love is a constant. No matter where we photograph it.
