I must say I feel very fortunate to have this job. Having the opportunity to work with such a wide variety of flowers, in some really creative applications, is a treat. But as much as I may be responsible for getting the flowers there on the day, I must give my clients a lot of credit for their input, ideas and trust. Fortunately, every job is different. To be given a fun brief, combined with the flexibility to select flowers based on what’s best in season that week, always results in decoration that has that extra sparkle.

Autumn is my favourite time of the year. While it can be a bit of an in-between time, with summer varieties finishing and winter blooms kicking in, the foliage colours are amazing and there are always heaps of berries and garden/forest bits and pieces to choose from. Also, the weather becomes cooler, making everything easier.

The images below are from a wedding at Zonzos restaurant in Yarra Glen. I love working at this venue; the food is amazing, the owner and staff and terrific and the room decorates really well, especially when I hang ‘floral chandeliers’ (while eating pizza) from the overhead beams. My brief here was a ” scrawly autumn foliage feel with bright tulips and orchids”
