Kasia and Simon

I love love stories that make me giggle and Kasia and Simon share a story that is sweet and so funny. Memories of moments that aren’t created by grand gestures, but rather something that comes from humour and a knowing. Kasia and Simon’s engagement photos come from Kwintowski Photography.

Kasia tells their story. “Simon and I first met through a mutual friend’s birthday. I was wearing a shirt, which read (and I’m a little embarrassed to admit this now) ‘Kiss Me Stupid’. Simon bounded over to me and said that he was incredibly stupid and that I should probably kiss him. I agreed that he was most likely very stupid, but refused to kiss him. We started talking later that night (and every night after the party) and became good friends.”

“Simon and I spent the first five years of our relationship traveling between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and then Brisbane and Cairns to see each other (Simon was a dive instructor and I was studying to be a teacher). He eventually moved to Brisbane to start university.”

“A year later, I suspected that he had bought me a ring as I had found a letter from FedEx. So, I “secretly” spent the month before telling everyone about the “maybe proposal”, whilst trying to find the ring. I managed to find a ring box hidden in a coat pocket. I pulled the box out, only to find a note, written by Simon, which said, “I knew you would go looking. Stop looking! Let this be a surprise.”

“A month later, he asked my dad if he could marry me and he proposed by leaving me a note and the ring in the fridge, whilst he sat at the top of the stairs, very casually calling out, “So, what do you think? Is that a yes? Will you marry me?”
