Chalkboards are such a fun way to add some personality to your wedding and they don’t have to be costly either. Wood, chalkboard paint and a piece of chalk is all it takes (although if you’re into the beautiful artistic chalk sign varieties you might need to find someone who is brilliant with their drawing skills!). Chalk boards can be used in so many aspects of your wedding decor. From welcoming guests, letting them know their seat, what they’re drinking, what they’re eating and even a little about you and your beloved.

Beautiful calligraphy can turn a chalkboard into something elegant, but hand written, rough typography has a certain rustic charm to it too. You could even use large chalkboards for photo and lolly buffet backdrops. A chalkboard wedding? Now there’s a thought!

My favourite part is how personal you can make them – throw them in a coloured frame, serve food from them, use a window frame, use fine fonts, old fonts, stark fonts, elaborate fonts- it’s as unique and as personal as you make it!
