Taryn & Daniel

Margaret River has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, so I’m excited to feature Taryn and Daniel’s wedding which happened on one of the beautiful Margaret River beaches and then was celebrated at one of the beautiful Margaret River wineries!

Taryn tells their story. “We were born in Australia in the same hospital just 2 weeks apart, but we didn’t meet til we were 8 when Daniel’s family returned back to Australia and met my parents (the news that we were born in the same hospital wasn’t apparent until we got engaged!) We then grew up as childhood friends, never interested in each other, until when we were 18 and decided to share fish and chips on the beach together one night as a reminiscent time of when we were 16 and I had to stay at his house because my family was out of town. It was at the fish and chips that we realised we really liked each other and kept spending time together, started dating and five years later we were married!”

Photos today are by Marc Ash Photography. Marc has captured the wedding with such a moody, intimate feel to it.

The bridesmaids wore gowns made by a local dressmaker while Taryn wore a gown designed by Zanzis. The girls all wore shoes by Forever New.

The floral arrangements were styled by Eufloria. Taryn notes “I loved my flowers! They are called upper secret roses, my florist helped me find them, they were exactly what I wanted.”

Taryn and Daniel held their ceremony at Injidup Beach, Margaret River. Taryn explains “Injidup is a surf beach and the groom loves surfing! It also has beautiful turquoise water and creamy sand but in the distance has the rugged landscape of the southwest.” The couple married in front of an old wooden door frame they’d found, from an old Italian builder.

For her walk down the aisle, Taryn says “A friend did a remake of ‘Moths Wings’ by Passion Pit for us – it was beautiful and dramatic at the same time.”

Of their photographer, Taryn says “His photos say it all! He was fun, relaxed, and sneaky, and still let us add our own touch. He has an amazing gift of capturing moments and details better than we could have ever imagined, we will now be able to cherish them forever. Another photographer friend of ours was taking photos in the background on the day, the two of them got on really well which we felt really gave a happy atmosphere to the images.”

Transport was a vintage bus from Rolling In Character.

The couple held their reception at vineyard. Taryn notes “Cape Naturalise Vineyard is our favourite winery in the southwest, we love the hills that the vines are situated on and obviously love the wine! The owners are just the nicest people and we were at the winery the day we got engaged.”

The bride’s brother Jacob made the Love sign as well as breadboards, gifted to the guests. The couple hired the marquee for their wedding, ” We hired our tables, lighting and marquee from this young couple who run their own business, they went out of their way to make everything special for us, more than just vendors, we felt like they were our friends! They were so helpful in the planning process and set-up. ”

For their first dance Taryn says “It was sexy! There was lots of romance and lots of wine involved. We danced a slow rumba to ‘Pala’ by Friendly Fires.”

Congratulations Taryn & Daniel! Thank you for sharing your wedding day wit us! Thank you also to Marc Ash Photography for sharing today’s images!
