Ashlie & Chris

Ashlie & Chris celebrated their wedding on Rainbow Beach with such a pretty vintage infusion. Buttons featured throughout the day from Ashlie’s wedding bouquet to the wedding cake and added a little piece of whimsy charm.

Ashlie tells their story. “We met at the Magic Millions race day in 2009, spent the day together, then went our separate ways.  6 months later, we had a chance encounter through a mutual friend and we have been together since.”

The photo today are by Rebecca Robson at B.WED Wedding Photography who shot her first wedding, with Ashlie and Chris in such a romantic way!

Ashlie wore a gown from Brides by Mancini paired with Tony Bianco heels. She recalls “!  It was so stunning but so comfortable; everything I was looking for in a dress.”

The wedding ceremony was held at Laurie Hanson Park, Rainbow Beach. Ashlie explains, “The wedding venues hold a sentimental significance for the my family, being the destination of every Christmas Day since I was four years old.  The ceremony was set up in the park overlooking the beach before heading to the nearby Inskip Point for photos.”

Ashlie and Chris chose a Friday for their wedding. Ashlie remembers, “Being a Friday wedding, just two days after Anzac Day, most guests arrived at Rainbow on the Wednesday and stayed through the weekend, making it a five day celebration.  We both moved away from Brisbane a few years back so this was a fantastic opportunity for us to catch-up and celebrate with friends we hadn’t seen in years in some cases.”

Of their photographer, Ashlie says, “The photographer, Bec, was amazing.  She has captured the day in some magic shots exactly in the style we were after.”

The celebrations continued at Rainbow Beach Sport and Recreation Club. Ashlie says “The reception at the bowls club was made special by the amazing staff who created an incredibly intimate atmosphere in their huge function room and were only too happy to cater for bare-foot bowls for guests between the ceremony and reception. “

Ashlie says “We decorated the tables entirely with items we already owned; tea cups, Grandma’s crystal, antique cameras, etc.”

For their first dance, Ashlie recalls, “We danced to Keith Urban’s ‘Making Memories of Us’, then got everyone up on the dance floor with Beyonce’s Love on Top.”

Congratulations Ashlie and Chris! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Rebecca Robson at B.WED Wedding Photography  for sharing today’s images!
