Chloe & Scott

With all of the classic and traditional elements of a wedding, Chloe and Scott’s wedding day reflects a traditional style Sydney wedding- but with a fun, personal twist.

Chloe tells their story. “We’ve known each other from childhood but moved in different circles. We met up again a few years down the track and hit it off straight away. We dated for 4 years before Scott proposed. He set up a picnic of all my favourite foods on Shelley Beach headland with an amazing view all the way up the north coast. This is where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes! We then had a helicopter flight over Sydney, which was awesome! “

Photos today are by David Henry Photography who has captured the fun light filled moments of the day in a carefully considered way.

Chloe chose a gown by Maggie Sottero while her bridesmaids wore cornflower gowns from Bridesmaids Only.

The wedding ceremony and reception was all held at the one venue- Sydney Grammar School Boatshed, Gladesville. Scott and Chloe put their own touches on the venue, including the food! Chloe explains, “My mum and I made bunting with all different blue and white patterned material, which we hung inside the hall and outside in the garden area where we held the ceremony. I made my own pom-poms out of crepe paper that were hung inside and outside of the hall.  My mum and I and a few friends made all the food for the afternoon tea a couple of days before the wedding which all the guests seemed to love! We brought along some novelty games (remote control speed boats, quoits and croquet) for the guests to use while we were away at the photo shoot which was a real hit.”

For music, Chloe remembers, “I walked down the aisle to “Illumination” by Secret Garden. “L.O.V.E” by Michael Buble was played as we signed the registry and “Everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole was played as we walked back down the aisle.”

Chloe remarks, “Our wedding day was so much fun! The weather was absolutely perfect and all the planning and little details came together nicely on the day. I had my dad walk me down the aisle; we chose close friends and family to do the readings and prayers, super fun photo shoot and entertaining speeches and yummy food at the reception. It was such a happy day that Scott and I got to share with all the people we love.  ”

The couple were married by Chloe’s uncle David McClure.

Of their photographer, Chloe says, “The first night we met David he was so enthusiastic about photographing our wedding and photography in general. We instantly knew we had made the right decision. He had a certain style and flare for photography which we both loved. As well as doing our wedding photos, David and Sarah Henry also designed our wedding invitations, which included photos from our engagement session. Scott and I both hate having photos taken of ourselves but David made us feel so comfortable and at ease on the wedding day, we hardly noticed he was there! His creativity and great sense of humour made for a fun and stress free photo shoot where there were a lot of laughs! We both LOVE our wedding photos – they all capture every moment of our special day perfectly.”

The couple hired a water taxi from V.I.P Water Taxis for after the ceremony to transport the bridal party to the botanic garden for photographs.

The celebrations continued back at Sydney Grammar School Boatshed, Gladesville . For favors, Chloe says ” We gave each of our guests a little white box full of Macadamia Toffee from “Aunty Joan’s Macadamia Toffee”. The macadamia toffee was in little individual white boxes with blue ribbon tied around it. ”

Chloe recalls, ” A couple of interstate and international guests weren’t able to make it to the wedding so they sent through telegrams which were read out to Scott and I at the reception – very cool!”

For something extra fun at the reception, Chloe remarks, “We hired a photo booth from Cheeky Memories Photo Booth for while the bridal party were away at the photo shoot for the guests to use. We included a prop box for them to get dressed up and go crazy with. Next to the photo booth we had our Guest Registry, which our guests stuck their photo strips in and wrote us a message next to it. Was a fun and quirky touch to the day.”

The newlyweds left the reception in a boat. Says Chloe, “When Scott and I left the reception on a water taxi, it was a beautiful, peaceful time alone with each other to reflect on such an amazing day we had together.  The amazing view coming into Sydney Harbour was the perfect ending to a perfect day.”

Congratulations Chloe & Scott! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to David Henry Photography for sharing today’s wedding!
