Sam & Dave

I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Autumn when we have such beautiful weddings like this one appear in our inbox (besides, it’s just the ticket for Fall and our Northern hemisphere readers!).

Sam and Dave chose the Mornington Peninsula for their Autumn wedding, soaking up the vivid Autumn colours that made for the most spectacular wedding day backdrop.

Photographs today are by Eric Ronald Photography who has captured such romance and beauty amongst the Autumn leaves.

Sam wore a gown from BHDLN. A friend styled her hair and makeup and she wore jewels borrowed from a friend as well as her own vintage bracelet.

Sam and Dave chose to hold their wedding ceremony at one of Victoria’s landmarks – Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens.

The weather turned it on especially for Sam and Dave. Sam remembers, “The weather leading up to the ceremony was forecasting possible showers, our wet weather back up fell through two days prior, so we were hoping for the best for our garden ceremony.  It started to rain when the guests arrived and as the ceremony started the rain stopped and the sun shone through and it was perfect.”

Sam walked down the aisle to ‘On Melancholy Hill’ – Gorillaz.

Balflower (03) 5983 2203 created the floral arrangements for the day.

Dave wore a three piece suit from Filippa K purchased at Swensk in Melbourne.

Of their photographer, Sam says “He was very relaxed, put us at ease, no posing – very natural.  He was extremely excited about the gorgeous Autumn colours on display on the day, which made us delighted with our choice of venue.”

Of their wedding style, Sam explains, “We wanted something that suited our style that is relaxed, with a vintage touch.”

Merricks General Wine Store was chosen for Sam and Dave’s wedding reception.

Guests received raspberry drops from Brown’s Confectionery factory at Sovereign Hill in jars designed by Huffy Hen complete with tags by Smiling Tag which the couple pulled together over many late nights.

For their first dance, Sam recalls, “We had a detailed choreographed routine, that we thought our guests would fund amusing but we only remembered half of it on the night, the guests seemed to like it regardless of our mistakes.  Our dance was to VCR by XX – this is one of our favourite songs.  We also danced to the traditional Greek wedding dance and everyone joined in, even the non -Greeks danced to all the Greek songs.”

Congratulations Sam and Dave! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Eric Ronald Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
