Anna & Iain

I love the historic buildings dotted around Australia that provide the most magical backdrops for weddings. Anna and Iain celebrated their marriage in a somewhat non traditional way – walking to the ceremony together. The sweet touches – from the choir than sung Anna down the aisle, the impromptu first dance and Anna’s blush pink wedding gown all added to the festivities and magic of the day.

Anna tells of how they met. “We met on a dating website. We spent our first date drinking long necks at St Jerome’s Bar and our second cycling up Mount Macedon.”

Beautiful photographs today are from Erin and Tara who captured a lovely feeling for today’s wedding.

Anna chose a blush pink gown from Lisa Ho.

The couple met before the ceremony, Anna remembers, “We enjoyed walking to the ceremony together in the lovely spring sunshine.”

Flower Temple created the floral arrangements.

For the walk down the aisle, Anna recalls, “A choir of our friends and family sang ‘Bright Morning Stars’ (a traditional song with beautiful harmonies). ”

Anna and Ian were married at Academy of Mary Immaculate Chapel in Fitzroy. Anna remarks “Academy is a beautiful chapel just a short walk from our home.”

Anna remembers, “At the ceremony, my sister sang Paul Kelly’s ‘meet me in the middle of the air’ with the choir. Sitting back and listening to her beautiful voice was one of the many special moments.”

Of their photographers, Anna says, “Erin and Tara were there all day. They’ve got a great talent for capturing detail and telling a story with their shots. Plus they were lovely people.”

The reception was held at historic Monsalvat, Iain notes, “When I was in year 8, I skipped school to visit Montsalvat. It’s a great building made out of older buildings from around Melbourne. And it had open fires, so I could fulfill my dream of holding court in front of a fire with a wine glass in my hand.”

The first dance was impromptu, Anna remembers “Our friend Matt was singing during the pre dinner drinks. He started playing youth group’s ‘booth street’, and it was such a good version that we had to dance.”

Iain remembers, “At the reception, dancing in front of our friends and family, with some of our closest friends playing our favourite music was pretty special.”

Congratulations Anna & Iain! Thank you for sharing your wedding with us! Thank you to Erin and Tara for sharing today’s wedding!
