Hummingbird evolved when the designer decorated a cake with gel pens. She ‘loved the sensuality, the fluidity and the syrupy gooeyness of it.’ Her attention was also caught by hummingbirds flitting in amongst plants outside her window – these tiny birds with precise movements flying near and far to soar amongst tall trees and close to the plants near her window. So Hummingbird was born with its soaring curves,  with precise but fluid smaller letters. This charming font could be used in invitations just as illustrated – perhaps for a rainbow celebration.
