Good morning Dotties! It’s a nice refresh to wake up to Monday! Did you have a lovely weekend? What did you get up to?

First up, as is Monday morning tradition, the shiniest spotlight is turned on to the fantastic members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory

Please take a moment and check out our fantastic wedding vendors. We have fabulous Photographers, Cakes, Catering and even Wedding Planners. We’re adding new vendors each and every week and we’re aiming to grow the directory full of passionate, talented vendors who get excited by you, your visions and your wedding days!

Our vendor of the week this week is Sunshine Coast photography duo Glen + Fiona! I love the sense of humor Glen + Fiona have (it makes me giggle!) which means you’ll have no trouble smiling in your wedding photographs! They also capture really beautiful imagery and they capture the entire day (plus they even have a’ get your pictures quick or they’ll pay you a special sauce guarantee!’). I love photographers who make it easy!

We asked Glen from Glen + Fiona five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?
I love Yalumba red wine, but I tell my friends I drink Jack Daniels on the rocks.

Your favourite weekend getaway?
Byron Bay, hands down. Nothing beats a laze on the beach, followed by watching fire twirlers at sunset.

Favourite restaurant?
I’m a big fan of the 4th Floor in Mooloolaba – to-die-for meals. But I can’t go past the peri peri chicken from Nandos on the weekend.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Omelette – tomato, basil, spinach and mushroom, oh sounds real good just thinking about it. I love my coffee too, gourmet vanilla bean from the Eumundi markets, fills the house with the most amazing aromas. Fiona doesn’t drink coffee, so I usually consume more than my fair share, and act like an idiot all day.

Your favourite wedding story?
I have a few lovely stories worth telling, but one that stands out was last years’ wedding in New Zealand that took place only days after the devastating Christchurch earthquake. The church venue that was to be used was destroyed and no longer an option, and much of the plans were in the air 2 days out. We flew in the night before, and we could tell straight away that everyone was pulling together, and this was a wedding that was not going to be called off. We had to drive the long way around everything in the CBD, but other than that, you wouldn’t have known, the wedding day was absolutely beautiful, relaxed and light-hearted. This was one of the strongest couples we’ve ever met. And they we’re on their way back to a townhouse that had no water or plumbing for a night before leaving for their honeymoon, but I know they still say, to this day, they wouldn’t have changed a thing.
