I’ve found it! I’ve found a little piece of paradise on earth… high up in the hills (so It’s a little closer to heaven than most places) and I know I should probably keep it a secret for myself, but I’m quite simply giddy with excitement about this stunning venue.

Bali Hai is an exclusive private residence located in Mossman, just 15 minutes from Port Douglas.  The secluded private location, at the end of its own road, has an address that is listed simply as ‘somewhere in the middle of the rainforest’ (and how fabulous would that look on your wedding invitation?).

Sitting amongst the Daintree Rainforest, this one-of-a-kind sanctuary is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Upon arrival your senses will be awakened by the beauty, tranquility and extraordinary landscape. The serene setting of Bali Hai makes it the ultimate choice for an exclusive and private wedding.

Built in 2000, the impressive property is designed in classic Balinese style, with a central open-air living pavilion and 3 adjacent thatch roof villas. Ceremonies are usually held on the lush green grass over-looking the Daintree rainforest and flowing stream.

While grooms usually take the opportunity to arrive in spectacular style in a helicopter, the bride then makes her grand entrance from behind one of the villas, at which point it’s hard to tell if guests are gushing over the bride or the beauty of the surroundings.

After the ceremony guests can mingle alongside the picturesque horizon pool before heading down a romantic candle-lit pathway to a stunning reception setting.

Whether you chose to have a marquee or a single long table sitting under a display of twinkling cascading lights, Bali Hai knows exactly how to make your wedding a spectacular celebration.

Owners Wendy and Hans are not only super-friendly, but also a wealth of information and ideas about how to plan your perfect day. Having hosted the wedding of Australian actress Rebecca Gibney and counting Danni Minogue amongst their celebrity guests, the pair have a long list of contacts that will ensure your wedding day is flawless. Bali Hai is without a doubt at the top of my favourite venue list. Bali Hai is breathtakingly beautiful!

Bali Hai is such an amazing property… I was BM at a wedding there, with most of the guests from Sydney, they were totally amazed and in love with this venue. My gf had the ceremony in Port Douglas at St. Mary’s by the Sea, then transported the guests to and from via shuttle bus. Polka Dot are right, Wendy and Hans will definitely look after you – I have also had the pleasure of being a guest at another house of theirs and I can’t recommend them highly enough!
