Tiff and Nathan

Nothing quite beats the backdrop of golden sunburnt grasses. It’s so quintessentially country and such a beautiful backdrop for a romantic country wedding – which is exactly what Tiff and Nathan celebrated just outside of Newcastle!

Tiff tells of how they met. ” We met at year 11 school snow trip in 2001. Nathan and I attended different high schools and our paths crossed again in 2006 when I (Tiff) played netball with Nathan’s two sisters and from this connection we went our first date in June of 2006. The rest as they say is history! ”

Photos are by Matt Streatfeild who captured the beautiful country glamour of the day.

Tiff and her bridesmaids all wore white gowns.

Tiff and Nathan were married at St Augustine’s church in Merewether. Tiff walked down the aisle to “It Feels Like Home” by Chantal Kreviazuk – performed by Tina Martin on acoustic guitar. She remembers, “St Augustines church in Merewether is a beautiful church that is close to both our families. We were both christened there and both have older sisters that were married there also so it was nice that we could do the same.”

“One very special detail for me was that I got to walk down the aisle with my mum. We have been so close my whole life and felt very fortunate to have her by my side. It was also special to be able to have the wedding at my sister’s family home. The setting and the yard/gardens were perfect and look amazing in the photos.”

Tiff remarks, “We both feel the best part of the day was the ceremony. From the moments we saw each other in the church you couldn’t wipe the smile off our face.”

Of their photographer, Tiff says, ” We had seen a lot of Matt Streatfeild’s (Matts Photography) previous work which made our choice of photographer very easy. He has done such an amazing job with every single photo from the day. He was very professional and very accommodating to all our wishes and requests. He made us feel so relaxed in our photos and our location shoot was so much fun. He has managed to capture all the great moments and memories from the wedding and when we look through our album if feels as though we are re-living these memories.”

The reception was held on a farm owned by Tiff’s sister. Tiff remarks, “The reception was in a marquee on my sister’s 3 acre property at Black Hill. The huge amount of work that went into the yard and gardens had the property looking amazing and the marquee was perfect. “

Tiff says, “All decorations for the wedding were DIY; the vases and flower jars were collected in the lead up to the wedding and wrapped in twine, Nathan made all the decorative signs, the bikes were found and repainted by family members, the jars for the sweets table were borrowed and the table was designed and decorated by myself and bridesmaids. Everything you see was either home made or collected in the year before the wedding and was all set up with plenty of help from family. ”

For their first dance Tiff remembers “We re-wrote the lyrics to a song by Nathan’s favourite artist John Williamson, “Boogie with Me Baby”. He performed the song whilst I danced around him then danced together during the chorus. We think it was a hit.” Photographer Matt adds, “It sure was a hit, the entire marquee of guests was rocking. It was maybe the single greatest bridal waltz I’ve seen at any wedding. If there were tears, it was of laughter.”

Congratulations Tiff and Nathan! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Matt Streatfeild  for sharing today’s images!
