Custom portrait by Nan Lawson

I love anything custom when it comes to weddings, the little personal details that absolutely nobody else can have because it’s you. So I love the idea of a sweet custom drawing of you and your beloved. Whether it’s used on a table at the reception, a thank you card or even your invitations, sweet details like this can be an easy way to add the most personal of touches to your paper goods.

Illustrator Nan Lawson has such a quirky sense of style. I love her quirky and self confessed nerdy style. Nan is based of out LA and now illustrates as her full time job. Because of the demand for her work, Nan only takes custom work at certain times so it’s best to sign up to her newsletter to be alerted to her custom availability!

neiko wedding illustrations

Neikoart has a whimsical, folksy feel to her creations. Neiko is another artist with high demand, so it’s worth signing up for notifications to when is able to take on new work!

Australian wedding illustrator It-Takes-Two

We have featured the awesome work of Australian illustrator Kathryn Green before, but I couldn’t leave her out of this roundup! Kathryn works with couples to create entire stationery suites which can feature custom illustrations of you and your beloved. Kathryn works with each couple to create a mood and style that suits the couple and her work has an elegance, without taking itself too seriously.

paper wedding portraits

I was such a lover of paper dolls when I was growing up and artist Annie Sklaver creates custom paper cutouts for your wedding. You, in paper doll format. With your puppy dog, your glasses, your five o’clock shadow and that lace on your gown. I love the 3D nature of Annie’s pieces which are all handmade in Brooklyn.

Have you commissioned a custom portrait? Which ones do you love?
