Pete and Cassie

We didn’t realise just how personalised our wedding was going to be until we experienced it. We had been together 7 years before we were married, and we wanted to incorporate precious moments from our life together so far, as well as a relaxed and romantic vibe which reflects our personalities. We met in our school uniforms when we were 15 and 16 years old. We have gone through many important milestones in our lives together. After 7 years of dating we know each other better than anyone else, and we have only grown closer and more in love every day.

Early on in our relationship we visited the Hunter Valley and fell in love with the rustic character and magical scenery at Hanging Tree Wines and we wanted to share this beautiful place with our family and friends.

The Hanging Tree Homestead where we held the reception was completely DIY and required us to be creative and innovative with the space. We really wanted to accentuate the natural beauty of the landscape with our decorations and lighting. We reused 200 glass orb tealight lanterns that Pete had used for the proposal and strung festoon lights between wooden posts that were built on-site.

The food was presented on tapas-style food towers in the middle of the tables. These share plates helped to create a fun and friendly atmosphere. We were so thrilled that our guests could enjoy our wedding after travelling all the way to the Hunter Valley, so we made sure that we had a killer outdoor dance party for them to let their hair down.

What an amazing party it was. After setting up our wedding with the bridal party days in advance, and paying attention to every little personalised detail, we felt like we were inviting our guests to our own happy, magical world.

Ms Gingham says: A wedding with so much heart! I love the location and the images! Congratulations to Cassie and Pete!

Cassie says: “My name is Cassie, I am 23 years old, from Sydney. I have lived in Sydney most of my life, studying a Bachelor of Art Education at UNSW College of Fine Arts, and now teach Visual Arts. I married the man of my dreams in the Hunter Valley on the 7th of December 2012.”
