Emmeline & Mitchell

A classic wedding with classic elements never goes out of style and is something a special when it’s traditional and simple because that’s just what the couple want. Emmeline and Michael chose simple and classic for their day and it turned out beautifully.

Emmeline tells their story. “We met playing football (soccer) when a mutual friend organised a team in a mixed social competition. Our team didn’t end up doing too well but there were always lots of laughs!”

Nerida McMurray Photography captured the day with a timeless and elegant, simple feel.

The Tea Room, Gunners Barracks was chosen as the wedding venue, Emmeline explaining, “Both the ceremony and cocktail reception took place at The Tea Room, Gunners Barracks. We wanted just one venue for both so our guests could relax and enjoy themselves. It is such a beautiful venue, the views are stunning, the staff were impeccable and everyone commented on how wonderful the food was. We couldn’t have been happier!”

The stunning floral arrangements were by a family friend, Emmeline explaining, “A very dear friend of my parents who is also a retired florist did all of our amazing flowers. He was the best man at their wedding, so helped us surprise both sets of parents by displaying photos from their weddings on the mantlepiece. It was beautiful!”

“The venue is so beautiful we didn’t need to worry about too many decorations. We kept it simple with lanterns strung up with fairy lights in the courtyard where we had the ceremony and hundreds of tealight candles around the place.”

Emmeline walked down the aisle to “An acoustic guitar version of The Beatles Here Comes the Sun.”

Emmeline describes the day as “Simple and elegant”.

Of their photographer, Emmeline says, “Nerida McMurray was amazing! She captured the day perfectly and completely understood our wish to keep everything simple and relaxed.”

The couple’s wedding cake was made by a friend (who coincidentally also introduced the couple!) and topped with fresh flowers.

For their first dance, Emmeline remembers, “Our first dance was to Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’. It took us back to our first date.”

Press Club Band did a great job of setting the mood throughout the evening.”

Congratulations Emmeline and Mitchell! Thank you for allowing us to share your wedding ! Thank you to Nerida McMurray Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us.
