Before we launch into a week of wedding inspiration, it’s our ritual on a Monday morning to showcase the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. From Favors & Decor Accessories to Photobooth Hire to Cinematography, Stationery & Paper Goods and even Venues, our directory is growing every single week with new and exciting vendors who are passionate about the work they do. Today’s vendor of the week Henry Roth has been a supporter of Polka Dot Bride since the very beginning, so I was a little excited to randomly draw his name from the Polka Dot tea cup for this week’s Vendor Of The Week! You see, the Roth family is one of Australia’s longest running bridal houses but added to that they’re some of the friendliest people you will meet too. From giving his personal phone number to every bride he meets, to providing wonderful service and making sure each bride that wears a Henry Roth gown feels amazing, the brand (along with the Michelle Roth brand) is something pretty special and something I am happy to introduce you to!
We asked Henry from Henry Roth five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Sugar-Free RedBull.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
Weekend???!!!
Favourite restaurant?
In NYC, Pastis, renowned for Sex and the City, and my local bodega for late night snacks (at 7th Avenue and 59th on the SW corner, if you are looking for me!)
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Brunch is half a grapefruit, and poached eggs with a bagel at the Carnegie Deli.
Your favourite wedding story?
Once upon a time, not so long ago, a bride tweeted from North New York that the person that she had commissioned to do her honeymoon and getaway outfits vanished – and she sent out an SOS to the world. I tweeted back to her from Sydney and as a result she will be wearing a gorgeous Henry Roth 50’s gown (our Zoe style to the knee).
She had lost her initial deposit, so we only charged her the remaining 50% deposit – that way she wasn’t out of pocket and I just feel really good about it! The wedding is happening in New York in June and I am honoured that I could do something positive to help her, as overall the bridal industry is wonderful and I refuse to let this incident cloud it.
