I love myself a polka dot wedding (well obviously) and these spreads from Martha Stewart’s Weddings Summer issue were right up my alley.

What I adore most about polka dots is how versatile they are. Blow them up big for photo backdrops, make them bold for a retro look or pastel and teeny tiny for something sweet and Spring inspired.

The cakes above was my favourite spread of this feature. So many different uses of the beloved dot and so tasty.

The above stationery was inspired by confetti and created by Sugar Paper. The bold black and white mixed with pale pink and peach gives a classic look with a modern edge.

Pickawall created this circle backdrop. I love the enormity and drama of the big, beautiful dots. There’s a sweet DIY in this issue for the flowergirl’s polka dot petticoat too!

Of course, being Martha Stewart there was a little DIY- my favourite look at the moment is mixing metallics and I love this DIY (which you can find instructions for, in the issue) to create a shimmering chandelier over the pastel and metallic table setting.

Not only am I love with the backdrop paper, because it’s the kind of polka dots that make me giddy but the sweet polka dot favourites, using a play on sweet spots are the little dots that end the occasion just right.
