Spring is just around the corner and it’s my favourite time of the year for weddings and the most popular with couples. The weather is sublime, nature has come back to life with an abundance of blooms available and everyone seems to naturally want to celebrate the great outdoors after the cold winter months.

This spring pastels are featuring heavily this year with mint proving to be a popular base hue and it’s no surprise why when it pairs so effortlessly with other pastel shades like lemon, apricot and blush. Combine this colour palette with raw timber tables, delicate lace runners, crystal cut glassware and beautiful bentwood chairs and you have the look of the moment. Gorgeous spring wedding styling and a refined spin on rustic styling.

Regardless of your colour palette, here are some trends that celebrate spring and all it’s glory which can easily be incorporated into your upcoming wedding…

Brides dare to be different and step out in a coloured wedding dress. For spring my favourites are those in soft blush and apricot tones but I’m also partial to a bit of sparkle!

Your bridesmaids will also stun in dresses of varying shade of the same colour while the men can have a little fun with patterned bowties.

Celebrate the variety of flowers available with low-lyinng rambling floral arrangements but don’t stop there. Dress up your “Mr” and “Mrs” chairs with floral garlands, create a photo booth backdrop or set up a floral stall so your guests can treat themselves to a take-home posy. Stick to pastel shades with a hint of vibrant greens such as ferns to keep things looking fresh.

For brides after some bouquet inspiration Kristy from Cotton Blossom Studio has come to the rescue with the quintessential spring arrangement. “It’s the perfect spring bouquet because it utilises all of the flowers which are available at the beginning of the season. The smell of this bouquet is amazing and the beautiful combination of colours make it playful and celebrate spring”.
