Elise and Alex

What a fun circus inspired wedding we have for you today. Colour, festive details, a magician, a drumming circle and a red and white marquee. Sounds like the kind of weekend that is right up my alley!

Elise tells their story “We met at uni on my first day, while moving into campus accommodation. Alex was an the RA and helped me settle in! ”

The fun moments and all the details were captured by gm photographics.

Danielle Hampton styled the girls hair and makeup, Elise remarking “Danielle did makeup and hair for the day. She was great to work with, all the girls were really happy with the end results and she came to us- which was the best bit!”

Elise chose a gown by Carla Zampatti while her bridesmaids wore gowns in different colours from Bridesmaids Only.

The wedding was planned and styled by Bells N Whistles Events. Elise telling “Jen lives and breathes weddings. Her passion was obvious from the outset when I visited her for a consultation. I was overwhelmed to say the least, not having expected to get engaged this year let alone make a spring wedding happen in 4.5 months. Her and her team were brilliant from first consultation to post-wedding de-brief! ”

All View Escape, Blackheath set the scene for the circus wedding extravaganza, Elise recalling “I wanted a venue that would accommodate the ceremony, photography and reception. I had no interest in ‘wasting’ time travelling from one place to another nor expecting my guests to wait around un-entertained, when we could all be partying! Allview allowed us to have all our bridal party and some extras to stay for a long weekend, to really enjoy the area and give us quality time with everyone.

We had a massive Friday night dinner and a BBQ the day after the wedding with the majority of guests and they even let my dog stay! I didn’t want to use a traditional function centre as I wanted everyone to be able to party as long as they liked, not get kicked out when the 5 hr package runs out. We had so many people travelling from around the country that it was really important to spend time with them all.”

The mismatched chairs and a few other decorative elements were from Circle Of Love.

Elise walked down the aisle to ‘Home’ by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, played by Dylan Wright, remarking “Dylan serenaded our guests into the evening, he was very popular!”

“We hadn’t discussed ‘The Kiss’ so just before the ceremony Alex sent an envoy from the boys house and I confirmed I wanted a dip at no less than a 45degree angle. He did it perfectly! ”

Guests enjoyed a drumming circle hosted by Bek Wermut and magic tricks performed by James Karp.

Of their photographers, Elise says ” Tim was so incredibly enthusiastic about our ideas and approach from the very beginning. I had some very specific ideas and Tim made them happen without fuss. The photography was one of the most important aspects for me, so I had to go with someone whom I could trust to do an amazing job- and they did! ”

The Little Flower Shop created the floral arrangements “They created my flowers to simplistic perfection! No fuss, beautiful service.”

“Head brewer of Alchemy Brewing, Peter Mastello, created some amazing beers for our event. The most popular being his prize winning Milk Stout.”

For their first dance, Elise remembers “We chose “Have love, Will travel’ by The Black Keys. We are currently living apart due to study and work commitments so it definitely fits our current lifestyle! We are not soppy romantics, at all, so an upbeat rock/blues song suited us much better. We hadn’t really intended to do the first dance thing but about 6 weeks out I decided we better make the effort- so started sneaking off to secret ‘karate’ lessons each week to make sure we could do something presentable on the night! In the end it was really fun! ”

Congratulations on your marriage Elise and Alex! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you to gm photographics for sharing today’s images!
