Even if you’re having a fairly classic looking wedding you can still inject a fun trend of the moment.

Yep, I’m talking about paint dipped objects – in this case a terracotta pot. Paired with a small succulent, it makes a great addition to your reception centrepieces or as a favour for guests to take home.

I used small tubes of artists’ acrylic since I was only doing one pot, but if you’re doing a whole bunch I’d recommend using paint sample pots from your local hardware store.

For your diy paint dipped pots follow these steps:

1. Pour paint into a plastic container. Dip in base of pot.

2. Set aside in another container to dry thoroughly, placing it on a small piece of wood or similar to ensure it doesn’t stick to the container.

3. Repeat dipping process with second paint colour.

4. Once thoroughly dry, pot your succulent in the terracotta pot with potting mix.

What do you think? A dash of contemporary cool perfect for your reception, I’d say.
