Cy and Angela

Cy and I met 4 years ago at a nightclub, definitely not where I thought I would find my future husband!  We hit it off instantly and have been inseparable ever since.

After 4 years of being together, Cy proposed in April. We both knew that we wanted an intimate wedding with close friends and family in attendance. With me being the most organised person in the world, we decided I was up to the challenge of organising a wedding for 70 people in 4 months – that challenge I accepted and met.

The morning of our wedding I was woken up at 3am by loud thunder and lightening lighting up my bedroom. I couldn’t believe it! With an outdoor wedding at a Marina, a thunderstorm was the last thing we needed, but the ever cool and calm Cy sent me a text in the morning telling me to relax and that everything will be fine (something he tells me on a weekly basis) and of course – he was right as usual. The day turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, a perfect day for a Spring Marina wedding.

I wore a Rachel Gilbert gown from Ivory & Lace Bridal Boutique. I knew with a short engagement, finding a dress I would fall in love with would be difficult. I found Ivory & Lace Bridal Boutique in Austinmer where all my dreams came true!  Jenny had so many beautiful gowns and was an amazing lady to deal with.

Frances Dunn provided our bouquets for the day which were beautiful.

Cy and I decided to have our photos taken prior to the ceremony with our Bridal Party. This was amazing as we were so relaxed and had such a fun time being with each other before seeing all our friends and family. Having my Sister and brother in law in the bridal party along with our two good friends was amazing. Kathy from Bird&Bee Studio was our photographer for the day and she was a dream to work with. We knew as soon as we met her, she was the one for us and we love the memories she has captured from our day.

Cy and I held both our Ceremony & Reception at Shipwrights on the Marina, Blakehurst. Shipwrights was the first venue we looked at with my parents, as soon as we arrived and met Julie-Ann, we knew it was the venue for us. Julie-Ann and her staff made our day absolutely perfect. The fact that we could hold our ceremony and reception in the same place was fantastic and made the day so relaxed and easy for our guests. Julie-Ann and Madeleine from Shipwrights styled our wedding with a beautiful white theme, fresh flowers decorated the whole venue.

With Cy being a Fireman, we wanted to incorporate this into our wedding, so we had a Fireman & Bride cake topper made on top of our beautiful 3 tiered wedding cake created by Karen at Caking it Up. The cake was a huge hit on the night with the toppers looking exactly like Cy and I.

I arrived by boat at the Marina with my bridesmaids and parents. We had “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” start playing as the Boat was arriving, with the boat being a total surprise to our guests, they turned the opposite way waiting for me to walk down the aisle not knowing I was pulling up next to them in the boat! I walked down the aisle with both my parents, to “Never Tear us Apart” by INXS, a song both Cy and I have always loved. It meant a lot to me to have both my Mum and Dad walk me down the aisle, they are such an important part of both mine and Cy’s lives.

We also had photos on the marina as the sun was setting which was magical.

Our friends and family were entertained by Craig Woodward & The Lonely Dogs who played all night long. They also received chocolate place tags created by Room for Chocolate. Cy decided the day before our wedding he would like me to choreograph a bridal waltz, which I did in our garage. We performed our first dance to Dean Martin’s “aint that a kick in the head” which everyone loved.

We had the most amazing day and night, we could never have imagined such a perfect day and we are both loving married life together.
