Happy Monday Dotties! I am hoping this week requires no scarf and instead requires jugs of ice tea. It’s always odd how much Australia is variant in it’s temperatures and the past month has been no exception! This week is a busy one for us at Polka Dot HQ, although the lovely Ms Gingham is sunning herself in Bali and hopefully drinking plenty of cocktails!

Monday morning tradition at Polka Dot Bride is to showcase our fabulous members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. If you want yummy wedding food- we have great caterers in our Catering category. Or perhaps flowers are your thing- in which case, visit the Flowers section. Wedding Planners to pull it all together, Entertainment to get guests on the dance floor and add to the atmosphere, Photography with photo journalistic style to something more classic. We have so many vendors with all kinds of styles all loving what they do and wanting to work with Polka Dot Bride readers- so get into it and find the vendors you love!

Meet our stupendous vendor of the week – Lovely Day Pictures! There are few things I love more than pouring over wedding films, getting sucked into the story and watching the day unfold and Suzie of Lovely Day Pictures is pretty special when it comes to capturing your wedding motion picture.

Suzie’s approach is to capture the day unobtrusively- she won’t ask you to pose and she won’t bring in loads of equipment. Instead she will capture the day as it unfolds, her mission is that you don’t even notice her!

We asked Suzie from Lovely Day Pictures five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?

A Sidecar for sure! It’s a classic cocktail made with cognac and cointreau and it tastes amazing. It has a vintage feel, I like to imagine that I’m a character straight out of Mad Men when I drink it.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

I regularly head to Kyneton for a country retreat out of Melbourne, it’s just gorgeous there. I go for nature walks around Black Rock, say “hi” to the kangaroos and then unwind at Harcourt Cider Brewery.

Favourite restaurant?

For cheap and authentic Mexican food in Melbourne you can’t beat Trippy Taco in Fitzroy.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

My lovely boyfriend makes me buckwheat pancakes with stewed apple and home roasted coffee, it’s bliss.

Your favourite wedding story?

I filmed the wedding of a couple who fell in love as pen pals in different countries. They already knew they were going to marry each other before they’d even met in person. To see them together it was obvious how perfect they are for each other, I always smile when I think of them.
