Jackie & Chris

Isn’t there something about a Byron Bay beach wedding that instantly has you itching for a cool drink, a patch of warm sand or soft grass and a decent dose of sunshine? I love that Jackie and Chris, whose wedding was captured by photographer Nick Evans incorporated that incredible Byron feeling into every aspect of their beautiful Byron Bay Beach Cafe wedding!

Jackie’s mother made her wedding dress, the bridesmaids wearing gowns from Karen Millen.

Passionate Flowers Byron Bay styled the bouquets for the girls.

The couple held their wedding ceremony and garden party post ceremony celebrations at Beaumonts Beach House, Jackie recalls “We loved the sweet, casual feel of our ceremony, and the most amazing weather we could have ever hoped for.”

Jackie walked down the aisle to Bright Eyes “First Day of My Life”.

“Everything we did and included was “us”. It was so easy and relaxed and a perfect celebration of who we are and who we are together. ”

Guests enjoyed a garden party in the gardens as the sun set. The garden party featured many DIY elements, Jackie telling, “Chris built the lemonade stand, photo both stand, seating chart, built all the giant cheese boards.” Chris even made his own wedding ring!

Of their photographer, Jackie remarks,  “A very talented photographer from Brisbane who’s work, and very friendly nature we both loved. A very easy going guy who we not only felt extremely comfortable around, but we were really glad and happy to share our day with. He was there from start to finish, and captured everything we wanted and more without imposing on our day.”

Byron Beach Cafe was chosen for the reception, overlooking the ocean. Jackie remarking, “A similarly spectacular location. The staff took care of everything, they were brilliant. The food was impeccable and we couldn’t have hoped for a better reception venue.”

Word of Mouth Events helped pull everything together, Jackie recalling, “Andrea Goodwin of Word Of Mouth Events made everything to do with our wedding easy and relaxed, we were so happy we used her and would highly recommend her.” The reception and ceremony flowers were arranged by the couple using flowers from the markets.

Jackie loved, “Feeling like it was something we created and was able to share with family and friends and listening to the most beautiful speeches from our loved ones.”

The first dance turned into a group affair, Jackie remembering,  “We chose Etta James, ‘At Last’. We just got up from eating dessert unannounced and started dancing. Before we knew it all the guests were up with us, and that’s where most of them stayed dancing until the night was over.”

Congratulations Jackie and Chris! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you Nick Evans for sharing today’s celebration with us!
