Happy Monday Dotstas! I started my Christmas shopping this weekend, which is a big tick in my books considering how many “last minute” emails I’m getting!  Fingers crossed I can think up some amazing ideas and get it done in time! We’re also going to spend the week doing some final testing on something special we are launching before the end of the year that has been in the planning for over a year. Yay!

We kick off our Mondays at Polka Dot Bride by introducing you to the fantastic members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory.  From Bridal Gowns to Venues to Photography and even Catering! Pop on over and see our fabulous vendors who love what they do, do what they love and want to take your wedding plans and help them come to life!

I always love a good wedding film and bayside based team Sorrento Weddings Photography and Film captured that floaty, relaxed vibe of the beach throughout every one of their wedding films. They also capture photographs so couples can have a one stop shop. They capture the essence of the day, believing in adapting to capture the unexpected, spontaneous moments of your wedding day.

We asked Shannon, principal photographer at Sorrento Weddings Photography and Film five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?

A good wine on the beach restaurant such as the baths at The Baths in Sorrento is definitely towards the top of our things to do list. Especially as we work weekends the beach in Sorrento is quiet in the middle of the week, so it is lovely to having an after 5 wine overlooking the beach there.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Tasmania seems to be our little trip away destination.. Its 30 minutes and another world away! It’s so amazing there’s so little phone reception – you can pretty much turn off your phone. 🙂

Favourite restaurant? I

LOVE Yum Cha – Westlake in little Bourke street Melbourne – Its just down the road from our photography studio in Little Bourke Street, Melbourne.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Pelican in St Kilda is where we can be found on a lazy morning – it is just one of those places where the whole world meets! Eggs benedict or eggs Atlantic are just the best there!

Your favourite wedding story?

All of our couples have such different and amazing engagement stories but one that stands out is when our bride Rahnee actually proposed to her fiancée Brad by presenting him with a guitar! It was wonderful listening to their story throughout the ceremony and very emotional at the reception watching Rahnee sing while Brad played his guitar beside her. There was not a dry eye in the room!
