Jaimee and Aaron

When Jaimee and Aaron decided to get married, they chose the family farm for their wedding venue. Owned by Jaimee’s parents for fifteen years, the (previously sheep, now cattle) farm features a 100 year old farmhouse and beautiful gardens kept by Jaimee’s mum – the most beautiful setting for this couple to tie the knot. The couple chose Blue Print Photography to capture their wedding memories.

On how they met, Jaimee remembers, “Two very busy people met on the internet. It doesn’t sound so romantic, but we chatted for a few weeks and when we finally met, we really haven’t left each other’s side since. Apart from work commitments.”

Aaron wore a traditional kilt from The Denovan Tartan by Heritage of Scotland, Edinborough.

There were plenty of heartfelt, handmade details, Jaimee explaining, “Yes, flowers were organised by local growers. They were arranged by the my mother’s friends. The garden was prepared by my mother. The groom spent a couple of weeks preparing details at the property including an outdoor hand basin in a small shed for the guests to use, it was a hit. The bride and her friends set the tables over a few wines.” The bride chose a strapless wedding gown from Fairy Tales Bridal Boutique.

Jaimee walked down the aisle to a selection of Scottish tunes played on the bagpipes by Jaimee’s brother, Bradley.

Everybody was involved in the day, Jaimee explaining, “We tried to include our whole family in the ceremony with my daughter being the flower girl and my brother and father playing their bagpipes as entertainment. My parent’s home had meant a lot to us as it is a place of gathering, not to mention the grounds were made for a large gathering just like this. My brother let us borrow his Holden EH Premier for the photos. It was harvest time in the spring so there were hay bales lying in the paddocks and the roses were in full bloom.”

Of their photographer, Jaimee remarks, “Chris was recommended by a friend. We liked his artistic touch and his attention to detail. He was excited about the journey to Byaduk and our pending nuptials.”

The bride’s mother made jam for each guest as a wedding favor. Each was tied with tartan ribbon. The outdoor handbasin was set up by the couple as a fun farm touch.

Dariwill Farm Hamilton catered a delicious dinner for the guests.

Of their first dance, Jaimee tells, “It was a beautiful song chosen by the groom. Down to my Soul by Paul Kelly.”
