Nancy and Jason

Oh I do love a good elopement and Nancy and Jason’s Daylesford elopement is so beautiful with its lake backdrop, grinning bride and groom and the littlest guests most excited of all. Captured by Love, Katie & Sarah the couple chose an elopement so they could marry in a ceremony with just their family – something simple, beautiful and full of love.

Kicking off the story with how they met, Nancy remembers, “Jason is a firefighter and also runs a group fitness business called Fire Up fitness. We met one morning at 5:45am when I turned up to my second session – I could barely move my legs from my first session and was feeling pretty unfit. The moment I saw him, and that smile gave me new legs!!! I did another 3 courses (5 weeks each) with the business before we went out on our first date.”

Nancy wore a gown by Jenny Packham. She arranged the floral arrangements herself, remembering, “The flowers were bought from the local flower market and I had collected jars and vases over a couple of months as I knew what I wanted to do on the pier. The ceremony was at 5pm and I was still arranging flowers at 3pm on my kitchen bench!!”

The ceremony took place on a pier overlooking Lake Daylesford. Nancy tells, “We married on a pier on Lake Daylesford. It is our special place. We own a little miner’s cottage just up the hill, down a dirt road to this particular pier and it really brings us peace. Our lives are so hectic but this place just presses pause on everything and puts everything in perspective.”

Nancy walked down the aisle, escorted by her son, to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years”. Nancy remembers, “I loved our son Archie walking me down the aisle and not wanting to let go. He stayed by our side for most of the ceremony.”

The couple’s daughters played a part, Nancy telling, ” We loved our very special readings read by Charli & Maddison.”

Of their photographers, Nancy remarks, “I found Love Katie & Sarah through a friend’s photographer. Their pictures were amazing, every wedding was so different, but the photos always managed to capture “that” moment. The girls were like long last good friends, we clicked straight away (having never met before) and as we were “eloping”, it felt like they were meant to be part of the day.”

Nancy remembers, “Our first dance was to no music in our lounge room after we put the kids to bed!”

Congratulations on your marriage Nancy and Jason! Thank you for sharing your story with us! Thank you to Love, Katie & Sarah for sharing today’s wedding with us!
