What was it that inspired you to start Ready to Party?
After helping a few friends plan exciting life events like weddings, baby showers and milestone birthdays we saw an opportunity to enter this very fun space and start a company that helps people plan and style their events.
Decorations and small details can make such a difference to a wedding and we wanted to provide a one-stop shop with ideas and products that make planning enjoyable and less stressful.
That’s why Ready to Party has a real focus on customer experience. Nothing is too much trouble and we are always happy to help out with individual requests and last minute wedding dramas!
What do you love about parties and the wedding industry?
We just love the excitement that comes with planning a wedding. Our clients are always so enthusiastic about their vision for their special day and we love being able to help make that a reality.
We get so many lovely emails from customers who have just opened their order and are thrilled with how our decorations are going to look at their chosen venue.
What sorts of things do you offer specifically for weddings?
We offer a wide range of high quality, stylish decorations – everything from lanterns, pom poms and bunting to chalkboard labels. We also stock wedding tableware and everything needed for a delicious dessert table.
Our photo booth supplies are very popular, as are our favours and bonbonniere.
At the moment we are getting a lot of interest in personalised favours such as miniature candy jars. I think couples love sending their guests home with something very personal to commemorate the occasion.
Can you advise brides about colour schemes or themes, and what to use to achieve their vision?
It is really important to make sure the theme or feature colour runs from the wedding invitations through the ceremony and the reception. Guests really notice that level of detail and are more likely to get swept up in the event if everything flows seamlessly.
We have put together a number of wedding themes so that you can view products together and see how individual parts of a theme work together.
It is best to keep it simple and stick to classic themes like garden or black in white. Make sure the theme fits the tone of your venue and pick a few feature items like pom poms or centrepieces to draw everything together.
What is a favourite colour scheme for a wedding? How can they enhance it with objects from your site?
White and ivory are obviously very popular, but we also find that white with a splash of yellow or green is a popular option. This works particularly well for country weddings or outdoor venues as incorporating these colours highlights surrounding natural features like trees and flowers.
Items such as lanterns, pom poms, paper straws, twine tied around mason jars can create a really beautiful atmosphere, and are all affordable.
How do you ensure that you find the new and different when sourcing new products to include on your website?
We look for products everywhere and then source them. We find ideas in magazines, at events we attend, on blogs and pinterest. We even get ideas from customers emailing and asking if we can find specific products for them.
We try to stock a diverse range of local and overseas suppliers and products which you wouldn’t find elsewhere.
We even have quite a few handmade items that you just can’t find at a large impersonal store that is only interested in turnover. We work carefully with suppliers to make sure we can get the best products for our clients and support small businesses as well as more recognised companies.
Do you see a particular incoming trend in weddings for the next 12 months?
Weddings are frequently less formal, with garden and backyard weddings getting more popular. Having a wedding at home can be such a lovely sentimental experience and you can achieve a charming rustic feel with a few well-chosen decorative items.
Favours are definitely becoming more popular, and we are finding that our customers want personalised favours similar to those that are popular in the United States.
What is the most popular wedding theme on your site at present?
The classic themes are always very popular – black and white, beach, country, garden. For brides and grooms who like a more vintage feel, Alice in Wonderland is a great choice. And a Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Parisian theme is popular for city weddings.
What can brides buy to match this theme? And how can they enhance it with objects of their own or ones they should purchase?
For the classic theme, bunting, lanterns, pom poms as well as a few themed items, such as themed bunting or tableware can really enhance the ceremony and reception.
For example, for an Alice in Wonderland wedding we would recommend purchasing our Alice in Wonderland Vintage Photo Booth Props, Alice, White Rabbit, Pocket Watch and Skeleton Key Silhouettes. Small touches like “Eat Me” and “Drink Me” tags on food and drinks are fun for the guests.
What are your dreams for Ready to Party in 2 years time?
We are celebrating our second birthday soon, and the next two years will really be about making sure we keep up with the latest trends and can offer our customers even more choice, without compromising our level of service.
What are 5 clever ideas to create a stylish wedding
1. Choose a theme or colour scheme and try to incorporate it in the the invitations, and then carry it throughout the day – from the ceremony through to dessert and even wedding favours if you can.
2. Keep it affordable and stylish by doing your own decorations – Martha Stewart Pom Poms and Lanterns look stunning hanging in a garden or at the reception venue and are not too expensive. And you can never go wrong with plain white fairy lights.
3. Use mason jars or milk bottles for cocktails. These look amazing, especially with some twine wrapped around the top and paper straws that co-ordinate with your colour scheme.
4. Personalised favours are cute and extremely popular with guests. They don’t have to be elaborate or expensive – our favourites are mini candy jars with personalised stickers that match the colour and tone of the event.
5. Pass out snack food during the dancing, especially during an evening wedding.

Spending time with our families, friends and various animals.
