I will admit to watching the wedding scene in ‘Letters to Juliet’ and wishing that I could do my own wedding all over again… in Tuscany! So when I saw a repin from The Tuscany Wedding on my Pinterest page, I couldn’t help but spend the next hour pouring over their beautiful images.

Since I was headed to Tuscany on holiday, I contacted Bettina and Beatrice from The Tuscany Wedding to find out exactly how they can help couples planning a destination wedding:

Describe a typical day at The Tuscany Wedding office?

Since we have two offices – one in Berlin and one in Florence – we usually have an early morning call to coordinate and update each other about our daily to-do list and program.

If we have an upcoming wedding then we’ll do a last visit to all our partners. This includes checking the wedding location  to ensure it’s tidy, the gardens are in shape, and everybody knows about the exact schedule; we’ll check in with the caterer to make sure the menu and the set up for the event is all clear; we’ll meet with the florist to confirm all flower orders are placed; and we’ll stop by the selected hotels to drop off small gifts for the guests and the couple.

We will also touch base with the band, lighting designer, and all other partners we are working with. Our phones are on 24 hours because everything has to be perfect for this special day. Last, but not least, we talk with the wedding couple to make sure they are happy and reassure them if necessary.

If there is no upcoming wedding, then our days are filled with researching new locations, finding and testing new partners/vendors, attending fairs, and creating new business opportunities/partners in other countries.

I’m sure all of your weddings are beautiful, but tell us about a particular favourite?

We still remember a very romantic wedding that took place in one of the most beautiful corners of Tuscany. A lovely young couple decided to get married without family and friends, just the two of them. We found a gorgeous venue with a private chef, the setting for the ceremony was a stunning ancient ruin accompanied by a small classical quartet. Everything was just perfect and so romantic. Of course we had prepared a nice card, which got filled with pictures from the wedding and was mailed from Italy to all the family and friends while the couple was still honeymooning.

What makes Tuscany such an idyllic location for a destination wedding?

Tuscany has everything you can imagine! Beautiful landscapes, most of the time beautiful weather, great food, nice people, and of course an enormous quantity and variety of gorgeous venues, castles, villas, vineyards, and the seaside with its beautiful beaches. This said, Tuscany is where everyone can find the perfect place for his or her taste (and pocket).

What services can you offer couples from Australia (and around the world), wanting to plan a wedding in Tuscany?

Well our philosophy and goal is to make every couple’s wedding the most beautiful day of their life. Especially if couples are travelling from around the world to get married in Tuscany, you need to offer a full service and make their stay memorable. We offer a full program including wine tastings, cooking classes, golf tournaments, etc. Couples and guests from abroad often like to stay more than just a long weekend, so our goal is to pamper the couple and their guests so they are all relaxed and can enjoy the wedding without worrying about the detail.
