Hope & Eduardo

Hope and Eduardo chose a simple mood for their day – vintage inspired and waterside. Choosing a venue that showed off the waterside of Sydney for their many international guests, the couple’s day was relaxed yet beautiful- a representation of who they are as a couple. Curly Tree Photography captured their beautiful wedding day.

Hope tells the story of how she and Eduardo came to be. “Eduardo and I met at a friend’s BBQ. To be honest, I don’t really remember meeting Eduardo for the first time because it was so brief. So when he texted me a week later to ask me on a date, I wasn’t sure what to do. Although, for some reason, I decided to go on that date and well, the rest is history.”

Hope’s friend Kate started the day finishing off a grand cake table for the couple. Hope remembering, “My friend Kate did our wedding cakes. Yes we had more than one! We had a range of regular sized cakes to offer people a variety of choices: blueberry chocolate cheesecake, red wine chocolate cake, carrot cake, Russischen Birnenkuchen, and a strawberry ginger tart.”

Hope chose a polka dot gown from Modcloth. The flowers were arranged by herself and her sister.

Surprise details melted the bride’s nerves away, Hope telling, “One of the best parts was getting a delivery from the Andre, Eduardo’s brother and best man. Eduardo had made me a bunch of flowers and had a card for me. It was nothing fancy, but it reaffirmed how much he cared about me and how excited he was to be marrying me. After that the stress of the day melted away.”

Hope walked down the aisle to Sea Of Love by Cat Power.

Hope and Eduardo wanted to marry by the water so chose Newport Mirage for their wedding celebrations.

Of their photographer, Hope tells, “Caitlin and I went to high school together. I had been watching her work as a photographer over the years on her blog and Facebook. When we decided to get married I knew which photographer to use. Caitlin’s style is very unique and natural. She is really great to work with and lots of fun. I am so excited about the photos she took. Truly amazing work.”

The couple added a few touches to represent their current home, Hope explaining “Eduardo and I have lived overseas and are about to move to Switzerland. The winter coat and Suitcase was a detail that reflected this as well as the beautiful DIY desserts.”

Celebrations continued at the Newport Mirage, Hope remembering, “We had the ceremony and reception at the Newport Mirage, Newport. We had a lot of international guests so it was great to have everything in the one spot. Eduardo and I wanted to have a venue overlooking the water and the Newport Mirage was perfect for us. The food was amazing quality and the venue does a lot of the decorating too, (tea light candles, rose petals, and floral arrangements) so it was a pretty effortless day for us.”

Of their first dance, Hope remembers, “Our first dance was to Heroes by David Bowie. We chose this song without a second thought. The song really reflects our personalities and has always been a special song to us.”

Congratulations Hope and Eduardo! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Curly Tree Photography for sharing today’s photographs!
