Today’s post is a reader request! Marrying in August, this Polka Dottie is in search of a coverup for her late winter wedding. She’s having a rustic style and looking for something that isn’t delicate or sequined, a little more casual if you will!

Never one to shy away from an online shopping expedition, I found these snuggly casual wedding cover up options that will not only keep a bride or her bridesmaids warm but also have that casual, relaxed vibe that our bride is on the hunt for.

1. Cashmere poncho from Jigsaw. Ponchos are the ultimate in warmth  and I love the cosy grey of this number. A thicker knit always looks more casual and less delicate too. With a poncho too you can wear whatever you like underneath and don’t have to worry about necklines and sleeves getting in the way.

2. Brave Soul Faux Fur Jacket from ASOS. Keeping up with bridal tones, this faux fur number in cream is a warm and fluffy option to keep you cosy. Dress it up with a high ballerina bun or go more casual with loose, flowing curls.

3. Rose Pointelle Cardigan from Forever New. The weave on this cardigan won me over. Warm and understated at the same time. The creamy colour is bridal but the shawl collar and circular shape keeps it casual.

4. Fake Fur Jacket from H&M. Fake fur can add a touch of Hollywood glam to an outfit but I think the length and colour of this faux fur coat has just the right mix to not look too overdressed. A cosy, bundled up option.

5. Cream crochet wool shawl from VintageOpulence To go the ultimate in casual but warm, a blanket or shawl like this vintage cream one on Etsy is warm without being over dressed. Throw it casually around you to keep away the August chill.

6. Chocolate Brown Shawl from ElegantKnitting. I love the thick weave of this knit and the chocolate brown colour is so yummy for cooler weather, while keeping that earthy casual feel.

7. Eva Tartan Jacket by Vivienne Westwood Angl0mania from Net A Porter, Want to go completely different? What about this fantastic tartan jacket over your wedding dress? Love this option for a completely rustic wedding in a barn paired with fabulous boots. What an accessory!

8. Plush Angora Topper from BHLDN. A little more feminine than the other options in this roundup, but with the right styling is casual and sweet without being too dressed up (plus, angora? so soft and snuggly!)

9. Collarless Metallic Zip Jacket from French Connection UK. I know, it’s a little glitzy, but I couldn’t resist this for a completely out of left field option. A warm biker style jacket is a completely different option that isn’t too girly or dressed up, but this metallic version adds a bit of fun and can certainly pass for a wedding coverup with the right styling!
