Cindy and John

Being unique and personal to your own self when planning a wedding doesn’t have to mean bucking tradition, it means staying true to who you are. Whether than is a wild and whimsical wedding or a romantic celebration like the wedding of Cindy and John who told their love story through their choices simply and beautifully. Their day was captured by Anthony Hoang Photography.

On how they met, Cindy tells, “We met through a mutual friend when I came over to Australia for undergraduate studies.”

Cindy and John chose one venue for their wedding day – Spicers Peak Lodge. Cindy remembering, “Spicers Peak Lodge is beautiful and understated. Hidden away in the mountains. The drive to the venue, especially up the mountain during rainy weather, was also a delight in itself!

The view of the mountain ranges at the peak was just spectacular and reminded us of our trip to the Rocky mountains in Colorado where John proposed. The venue not only reminded us of these beautiful memories but also evoked emotions of how happy and contented we are with each other.”

The day kicked off with traditional Eastern ceremonies. “The traditional tea ceremony was respectful and organised. The tea set was all arranged by my mum which went on really smoothly.”

Cindy remembers, “The reception decor together with the lights, left us just speechless. Everything went so smoothly and we were very blessed that it turned out that way. AND the photos captured almost all of the essentials.”

For their first dance, Cindy remembers, “We danced to “I won’t let you go” by James Morrison. It was beautiful and slow and allowed us some time just by ourselves, being in the moment.”
