Belinda and Trent

Belinda and Trent met in Northcote, so where should they head for their engagement photographs but a trip back in time to their old stomping ground! Aria Photography captured a relaxed engagement session for the couple around the streets and haunts they love in the suburb.

Belinda tells their story. “We first met at a bar after a day out at the Cox Plate races. It wasn’t until the following February, a few months later, that our paths crossed again at a mutual friend’s birthday celebrations at a bar in the city. Finally in the April of 2009, we crossed paths once more…literally! We bumped into each other as we crossed High Street in Northcote and we’ve been together since!”

On what she loves about Trent, Belinda tells, “I love Trent’s caring and selfless nature. He has a great sense of humour and keeps me well balanced with his patience and thoughtful consideration in decision making.”

Belinda remarks,”We often talk about the story of how we met and how it was almost like our relationship was just meant to be. On that night in Northcote, Trent left friends at a nearby bar earlier than expected. Meanwhile, a friend and I were going to a fundraiser not far away and after being unsuccessful in finding a taxi, we ended up jumping on a tram to travel the distance. To have passed each other in the middle of a pedestrian crossing was such incredible timing!”

On what he loves about Belinda, Trent tells, “It was Belinda’s beautiful smile and blue eyes that first caught my attention. She is a caring, thoughtful teacher who is always thinking of others. We both value the importance of family and enjoy spending time with them. We also have a dog called Buckley that we adore.”

Belinda tells the proposal story. “After visiting a few jewellery stores together and trying on different styles, Trent had the engagement ring made for me and organised an overnight stay for us in the city. Not long after we checked into our hotel, he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. It was an easy question for me to answer! ”
