You could be forgiven for thinking you were amongst the picturesque regions of rural France when you first enter the stunning Sault. Set amongst picturesque lavender fields, beautifully manicured acres of garden, and a stunning feature lake, it combines the very best of country Victoria with the charm and panache of French style. When I arrived and was greeted by owner/operator Jodi, I was distracted by the shimmer of the sun off the lake, and the smell of lavender wafting through the air – bliss!

Sault is not just a pretty face however, as it is home to a restaurant of some clout, boasting fabulous regional produce within its Modern Australian cuisine. We enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch, which highlighted the best the area has to offer. Complimented by an extensive wine list (an integral part of a meal or a dining experience), the view out onto the lake somehow makes the food even tastier, and the wine even lovelier.

Jodi took me out to see their newest and most exciting addition – the Barn/Chapel. My eyes lit up! Handcrafted from local materials, guests can enjoy views over the lake and it is the perfect place for a rustic, country wedding ceremony and the type of venue so many of our brides are looking for.

What I particularly took from my visit to Sault is the passion that owners Jodi and Damien have for this magical place. Unlike other venues where you are left in the hands of a ‘function co-ordinator’, Jodi assists couples from their initial enquiry, through to and including the big day. You rarely get that kind of service these days, and it certainly makes all the difference when it comes to tailoring an event that is specific to you and takes in the very best the venue has to offer.

Why not take a weekend to visit the gorgeous Sault, and take a tour of the beautiful restaurant and grounds yourself. It won’t disappoint, and we can’t wait to see some of the beautiful weddings that will take place in the brilliant Barn/Chapel!
