Often, but not always when a bride comes to see me, they have chosen the venue. And that’s about all. Next is the centrepiece of the wedding, the gown. When organizing their wedding, some brides come for the gown first before anything and some leave it to absolute last.

Any way a bride plans their wedding it is a fabulous journey. The special thing in my work is that I hear about their plans when they come in and I try and fit a gown to suit their personality and style for the wedding. By the time I see the bride again at their first fitting there is so much more planned and I can see the anticipation building in them. ‘It’s getting close’, they say.

The most fabulous thing for me is after the wedding when they contact me and tell me that their day was perfect and they felt amazing in their gown. When I see a photo of the bride and groom looking so in love and happy, it’s a wonderful feeling to have been part of that. A girl feels an enormous amount of emotion on her wedding day and if she feels beautiful and comfortable in her gown it’s like the icing on the cake.

Ms Gingham says: It definitely is a journey! Finding that perfect dress is the most memorable part of a bride’s experience!

Jo from Silk & Style Bridal says: I love the diversity of the people that I meet through my business. Every bride has a story and I love hearing what their story is. I love all the different wedding styles from the simple to extravagant. Whatever your wedding desire is, do it your way and don’t hold back!
