Nicola & George
Nicola and George chose a classic white wedding to celebrate their special day. With the groom’s family being used to traditional Greek orthodox ceremonies, the couple mixed it up with a civil ceremony overlooking Albert Park lake. They chose Glass Slipper Photographer to capture their day.
Nicola tells the story of how she and George came to be. “We met through mutual friends 8 years ago, we had a bit of a rocky start but something kept bringing us back together. We’re best friends and have really grown up together.”
The groom and groomsmen wore suits by Joe Black.
Nicola chose a lace gown by Connie Simonetti.
Nicola and George chose Albert Park’s Carousel for their wedding, explaining, “Our ceremony was just the stand out of the day, George is Greek and his family had mainly attended Orthodox Church weddings, as Nikki and her family had mainly attended Catholic Church weddings. The wedding on the deck at Carousel, overlooking the Lake was just beautiful and the lovely atmosphere Andrew Redman our celebrant created really set the scene.”
Nicola’s bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Des’ree – I’m kissing you. While the bride walked to bagpipes playing Flower of Scotland.
Nicola recalls, “The ceremony celebrated our life together so far and our hope for the future, it was perfect.”
Of their photographers, Nicola tells, “Steve + Keshia at Glass Slipper Photography were relaxed and creative throughout the whole day. It was great having them there from the beginning of prep to the very end.”
Where The Grass Is Green styled the reception, Nicola remembers, “Classic white, with mirrors, candles and fairy lights hanging over the dance floor and draped on balcony. The flowers were mainly white chrysanthemums, with white carnations and roses on the bridal table also. The room was set around a huge 16 seat, square bridal table in the centre of the room which was filled with many different levels of flowers and candles.”
“Nikki is from Scotland originally and her family and some friends flew in for the wedding, making it so much more special.”
“Marriage was important to us as it’s a promise to be there for one another, no matter what.”
For their bridal waltz, Nicola and George chose “Barry White – Can’t get enough of your love.”
Congratulations on your marriage Nicola and George! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Glass Slipper Photographer for sharing today’s wedding!
