Sarah & Matthew
Today’s wedding is utter proof that should the rain come tumbling down, well your wedding will still be magical. Even if the there are puddles everywhere, even if everyone is underneath umbrellas, even if your hair gets soaked. Sarah and Matthew chose a country camp style wedding day, marrying on Sarah’s family farm on the banks of the Murray River in Jingelic, planning the entire day in five weeks. Laurence James Photography was there to capture their day.
Of how they met, they tell, “Matt wore double denim and demanded a smooch – despite the fact that she was seeing someone, Sarah obliged.”
Guests camped on the property overnight to ensure there were extended celebrations.
Photographer Laurence notes, “As everyone started the descent to the banks of the Murray River for the ceremony that the bride (Sarah) insisted was still going ahead outside even though it was raining. It didn’t matter as it was humid and warm much like the tropics and it was a fantastic occasion of course.”
Sarah arrived at the ceremony on the back of a dirt bike with her father.
The bride walked down the aisle to music from the soundtrack of The Clockwork Orange.
Thomas Henning performed the ceremony. The bride describing it as “The best wedding ever!”
Of photographer Laurence, the bride tells, “Our photographer was great. He has a great eye for the details that defined the atmosphere of the day. He captured all the important, amazing and intimate moments that we will cherish for ever.”
The bride wore a vintage white dress with a hairpiece from Era Vintage Bride.
So much of the wedding was DIY including the floral arrangements.
Food By Sarah King catered the wedding, the bride’s highlight, “The oysters in a wheelbarrow!” Sarah’s sister made the wedding cake.
